“I remember Chris’ first audition very well, because Kara was completely and utterly besotted with him,” the outgoing “Idol” judge laughed while talking to reporters Thursday (February 18). “I wasn’t quite so keen on him. Paula Abdul has had discussions with Simon Cowell about being a judge on the U.S. version of “The X Factor“… sources tell TMZ.
The irony is stunning — Simon, the lynchpin of “American Idol,” abandoning ship and teaming up with the woman who was unceremoniously dumped from “A.I.”
As we previously reported, Simon has had discussions with Abdul about joining his new show — the one he’s leaving ‘Idol’ for after this season.
