The results of the finale were a little disappointing for me as a viewer. I honestly felt like anybody with a semblance of fair play could tell you that Crystal Bowersox wiped the floor with Lee Dewyze, but, it was America’s choice and they decided to go with the young Dewyze. Quite an upset, in my opinion. Let’s take a moment to talk about the runner-up!
Crystal Bowersox – Crystal did everything right last night. She went out and fought tooth and nail for a victory that was made impossible by Lee’s ever growing momentum on the show. That’s the issue with being the early frontrunner. Fans of eliminated Idol’s usually don’t jump on board late in the game; instead, they move to the alternative, and Lee was that alternative. Crystal probably lost this competition last week when she allowed Lee to practically be crowned during the top 3 stage of the competition. But, second place is nothing to sneeze at and now it’s up to her to see how far she gets…
Now that we’ve discussed the eliminated contestant let’s move on and make some snide comments and observations about the rest of the episode…
1. Less than 2% separated the final vote!
2. Alice Cooper! We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!
3. I gotta tell you… seeing Siobhan Magnus and Lacey Brown in a schoolgirl costume fulfills one of the items on my bucket list.
4. Kris Allen showed up to sing a song about elephant avalanches.
5. The little duet between Siobhan and Aaron was actually really in tune. They sounded good together.
6. Weirdest duet of the night? Michael McDonald and Michael Lynche.
7. The Dane Cook “Kanye” moment probably made my year. What else did they expect when they invited psychotics to dance on stage? Of course one of them was going to go rogue.
8. The girls medley scared the bejeezus out of me. Where did Paige come from?! Katie was standing there and then all of a sudden BOOM! Paige was right next to her! Terrifying!
9. Really, American Idol? The boys get a “Hall and Oats” medley? Yikes.
10. Whose bright idea was it to let Andrew Garcia sing again?
11. I’m sorry. I think I missed the “Hall and Oats” performance. I fell into a cheese-induced coma.
12. Carrie Underwood is a giant success. Every time she returns to the Idol stage you can see why…
13. Wait! Hold the phone! Lee and Crystal got a Ford Fiesta?! That’s nice and everything, but didn’t they used to get Mustangs?!
14. The Ford commercial made it seem like all of the Idol’s had died this season and Lee and Crystal were paying their respects.
15. Bret Michaels singing with Casey James was the “Aww” moment of the night.
16. Poor Lee. He had the lamest duet of the night. Chicago?! Really?! What about Lee even remotely fits with the band Chicago?
17. So, General Larry Platt can dance and William Hung still can’t sing. Was it just me or at the end of the song did the General say “China! I love it.” Hahahaha.
18. Paula Abdul needs to get better joke writers.
19. Wow. The Idol winner medley was really powerful, especially when all of the also-rans began to stream out and you take stock in just how many lives this show has changed.
20. The Joe Cocker duet was probably the greatest moment of the night. Cocker still rules even if he looks a thousand years old.
21. Lee was crying before he won… that’s how much he wanted this.
22. Lee; you won. NOW SHAVE.

wtf was up with Paula Abdul? awkwardest wtf ever? or does she still have trouble reading the cards? how many pills did she take before coming out on stage? Idol train wreck finale? VFTW porn? im still in shock, i cant figure out what happened there with paula.
Greenshortz I am entitled to my opinion, we are still in AMERICA aren’t we. I never said I could sing but hey can you don’t some of us just get to be listeners and enjoy and buy the music we like!! Although none on your list were my faves I don’t Lacey’s sound either, that’s my opinion so deal with it. and as far as for I’d better watch out WTF, you had better watch out you may have offended an Aaron, Casey, Paige, or Andrew is his first name Garcia and God forbid anyone have an opinion you don’t like so you have to threaten them.
I.m 350 pounds, bald, pot belly, two blown out knees and I still am more marketable than Lee. I can’t figure out what everyone see’s in him. And by the way, if you take the word amazing out of his vocabulary, he doesn’t have many words left
