American Idol – Will We See a Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze Duet Tonight?

Anyone else wondering if we’ll see duets tonight on the final four performance show of American Idol? That’s what we were treated to last year. Remember hearing Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert collaborate on Slow Ride last season? That was amazing!

We know Jamie Foxx is mentoring tonight and that the theme is songs of the cinema. And at final four everyone always sings at least two songs, with it being changed to duets last season. Is it too much to ask to hear a duet with Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze? It practically has me salivating. While perusing the song list the Idols had to choose from that was published on MJ’s Big Blog, there isn’t really any song that has me too excited to hear in a duet, but many of them are duet-worthy, and we know Lee can flip any song. Can he flip one for himself and Crystal together?

Not that hearing Michael Lynche and Casey James brings out the same feelings in me. I can’t even imagine what they would find to sing together, and it could end up being a big bust, just as it was when Kris Allen and Danny Gokey collaborated last season on Reneagade. The song style just didn’t suit them both, and while Kris could flip a song to make it fit him, the same couldn’t be said of Danny. Then of course there was the lyrics flubs.

According to the official Fox press release for tonight, “Grammy and Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx will return to IDOL as a guest mentor to help the Top 4 finalists – Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, Casey James and Michael Lynche – prepare to sing hit songs from the movies.” Nothing is said here about duets, but nothing is said that each will be singing two songs of their own ether, and just four songs total isn’t going to fill out the whole hour.
