Next week is fast approaching, even though we haven’t lost 4 people yet. So, with that in mind, it’s time for you guys to post what they should sing next week. Here’s what I came up with:

Lee Dewyze- A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke (a stripped down version of just him and a guitar would be nice)

Aaron Kelly- Live Like You Were Dying by Garth Brooks

Alex Lambert- Trouble by Ray Lamontagne (or The I Love You Song from Barney… that cover that he does)

Todrick Hall- Whatcha Say by Jason Derulo

Michael Lynche- Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles

John Park- The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli (I think he has the voice for this if they put it in a different key)

Casey James- Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked by Cage The Elephant (it has some good guitar for him too)

Andrew Garcia- Fireflies by Owl City (he does a cover on Youtube that’s pretty cool)

Tim Urban- Say by John Mayer

Jermaine Sellers- Closer by Ne-Yo

Haeley Vaughn- You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift

Lacey Brown- Mercy by Duffy (she has a tendency to choose slower songs, so an uptempo might benefit her more)

Michelle Delamor- Almost There from The Princess and the Frog

Lily Scott- Rehab by Amy Winehouse

Paige Miles- Halo by Beyonce

Crystal Bowersox- Hero by Nickelback (strip it down, just her and a guitar)

Katie Stevens- Realize by Colbie Calliat (play your guitar like you do in your youtube videos)

Siobhan Magnus- Whaddya Want From Me by Adam Lambert

Didi Benami- Stay by Sugarland (just her and a guitar, don’t do the country twang)

Katelyn Epperly- The Trouble With Love Is by Kelly Clarkson

These are actually some great suggestions!

Except Katie’s song choice sounds boring. She has a bigger voice than “Realize.” And “Mercy” for Lacey would sound too much like the original but I love all the other choices!

Isn’t Live Like you were dying by Tim McGraw? I don’t think Garth Brooks does that song… I could be wrong though….great choices….:-)

Liane, it’s Tim McGraw. I agree – Aaron needs to stick with the pop-country.

Siobhan needs to do “Sweet Child Of Mine.” She would rock it!! Guns N’ Roses, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, etc. are up her league. PLEASE SIOBHAN SING SWEET CHILD OF MINE!!! OR sing Don’t Stop Believin’ ,or Open Arms by Journey!!! Don’t pick a boring slow song. Pick a BIG slow song. You have the voice!!!

Lee Dewyze- Simple Man – Shinedown, acoustic version or The Gift by Seether (one of my personal favorites of all time so that’s just wishful thinking)

Aaron Kelly- The Truth by Jason Aldean

Alex Lambert- I’d Rather Be With You – Joshua Radin

Todrick Hall- It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye by Boys 2 Men

Casey James- How Far We’ve Come – Matchbox 20 (boyce avenue’s acoustic version) so he can regain the honesty in his voice.

Andrew Garcia- Knock You Down – Keri Hilson/neyo/kanye (check his version out on youtube, pretty sweet)

Tim Urban- Love Drunk by Boys Like Girls acoustic version (stay current, it’s what will keep you in the competition)

Jermaine Sellers- Replay by Iyaz (at least try to be current, weirdo)

Haeley Vaughn- Our Song by Taylor Swift

Lacey Brown- Don’t Know Why – Norah Jones

    Michelle Delamor- T-Shirt by Shontelle

Lily Scott- How I Could Just Kill A Man by Charlotte Sometimes

Paige Miles- Take A Bow by Rihanna

Crystal Bowersox- Hook by Blues Traveler

Katie Stevens- Realize by Colbie Calliat (I agree with you on this one actually haha)

    Siobhan Magnus- Ignorance by Paramore

Didi Benami- Like You Do by Angel Taylor

Great suggestions! They should direct the top 16 to this page!
I’m gonna give some of my ideas for a few contestants

Katie-if I were a boy (beyonce) or bust your windows (jasmine sulivan)

haeley-cowboy Casanova (Carrie underwood- I would be scared this would be too big for her voice) maybe tear drops on my guitar (Taylor swift)

lee- over my head (don’t know the artist)
Alex lambert- I’m yours (Jason mraz)

    Paige- don’t stop believeing (journey)
    todrick- so sick (neyo)

Jermaine- we belong together (Mariah Carey- with his high notes and need to show what he can do honestly this would suit him)

    todrick

Katie Stevens- White Horse by Taylor Swift

Alex Lambert- Broken Stereo by Sean Fournier

this is kind of a weird one but i think Didi Benami would sing You and Me by Lifehouse Really well.

My only problem with Katie is that they tell her to be young but still they ask her to find who SHE wants to be as a recording artist … Why are they pushing her to do something young when maybe she wants to be more of a bluesy soul person because he voice fits that genre well

I want to hear Casey sing Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Just him and his guitar.

My bets for American Idol this season? Any of these three: Crystal Bowersox, Mike Lynche or Lee Dewyze.
