Well, we’re here, finally. The Top 12 Results. We got to sit through David Cook (who was pretty freaking awesome), Orianthi (who has the stage presence of a ficus), and Ke$ha (who is trying really hard to be the next Gaga). It was kinda cool seeing the performances. I’m not quite sure that Ke$ha is rock enough for this… but… I digress.
Alright, just like last night, I’ve got some stuff to type, and some stuff to tape. If you want my Top 11 Rankings, and some thoughts on Lacey Brown, check out the video:
Now, what I’m offering in tonights post is a look back at previous 12th place finishers.
Season 1: No 12th Place Finisher
Season 2: Vanessa Olivarez
After being eliminated, Vanessa decided to become Canadian, and even recorded a single that peaked at #9 in sales, and #30 in airplay. The single didn’t lead to an album. Vanessa’s Canadian career continued when she landed the role of Tracy Turnblad in Toronto’s production of Hairspray. She’s been in a couple groups since then, notably Butterfly Stitch, but currently just teaches music to kids.
Season 3: Leah Labelle
As far as I can tell, not much has been heard from Leah since being eliminated from Idol. She had some brief management, and recorded a demo with Andreo Heard. She did, however, attend Berklee School Of Music following Idol, so one can only assume her music abilities have grown since then.
Season 4: Lindsay Cardinale
An interesting fact about Lindsay is that following her elimination, she was forbidden to sing at a hometown festival, due to her contract with 19E, so she played the drums instead. In 2007 she signed with Aria Nashville, but they dropped her before completing an album.
Season 5: Melissa McGhee
12th Place hasn’t been kind to girls. Melissa really hasn’t done anything since being eliminated from Idol, that I can tell.
Season 6: Brandon Rogers
Brandon broke the girls losing streak and was sent home after forgetting his lyrics. Brandon has done a guest appearance on Bones, and also did a Taco Bell commercial. He released an album called Automatic, but it didn’t chart.
Season 7: David Hernandez
David toured with some other Idol ejectees (Diana Degarmo, Chikeze) for a while and also got the chance to open for John Legend. He’s currently on tour with Ballroom With A Twist.
Season 8: Jorge Nunez (technically)
Jorge hasn’t done anything since Idol. He just moved back to Puerto Rico.
Season 9: Lacey Brown
Things aren’t looking good for Lacey. 12th place finishers seem to have almost a non existant post Idol career. Uh oh…

What I want to know is what is the theme songs for next week…I didn’t hear anything….or is it a big secret?
