It’s make or break time for these contestants, who’s performance means the finals of American idol, or a quick trip home. It is all about performance this week, as well as song choice. What do you all thing the kids should sing? It is once again, the ever popular Billboard Hot 100 theme: i.e. “Sing Whatever You Want” theme.
There are maybe one or two contestants (Crystal Bowersox or Lee Dewyze) who’s semi-final performances in weeks one and two garnered them enough of a fan base to propel them into those oh so uncomfortable top 12 chairs on Thursday. For the rest, it all lies with his weeks performance.
I would love to hear Sibohan Magnus sing some Motley Crue’s “Don’dt Go Away Mad”, And how about Casey James sing a stripped down version of Kiss’s “I Wanna Rock n Roll all Night”.
I really hope that Michael Lynche does what he di last week, and picks a soulful, blusey classic. That will ensure him a trip to the top 12. Paige Miles needs to sing some R&B. Alex Lambert needs to do what Jason Castro Did during his top 16 week, and sing a song like “Hallelujah”. Just him and a guitar, maybe?
Andrew Garcia could do well with a stripped down version of U2′s “With or Without You”. For Lacey Brown, it is no so much song choice that will keep her from the top 12, it is the connection to the song and to the audience. Lacey is always too full of nerves to really connect to a song. Just relax, Lacey, and you should do fine.
It seems to me that Didi Benami, Katie Stevens, Katelyn Epperly and Lilly Scott will be fighting for two or three spots in the top 12, so they each need to figure out a way to really connect with the audience.
Todrick Hall just needs to go out there, stand still, and Sing, Nothing less, and for God sakes, nothing more. Aaron Kelly needs to stick to a Country/Pop vibe. The country fans really have no one to vote for this year, and if Aaron decides to go country, then his fans will be ultra loyal. Tim Urban just needs to pick a simple song, stay on key, and break out the personality big time. Tim seems to have built quite a fan base with the tweens (And the cougars…have you seen Tim’s shirtless pics??). If he doesn’t royally suck, then he could get a spot in the top 12.
