I asked our great Mod’s here at Joe’s Place to give me their own personal rankings of last night’s performances. Here’s what they had to say:
DougMOD:
12. Lacey – I’m not going to miss her when she goes home – never liked
this girl. The Elfish looking singer can go home and make cookies.
11. Katie – Wild Horses and spit flying out of her mouth dont impress
me , in danger of going home soon.
10. Andrew – He is fallng more behind every week. Dropping very fast on
my list and he was an early favorite of mine. Disappointing!
9. Tim – He impressed me with the reggae arrangement, too bad his
voice isn’t as impressive , average at best.
8 Crystal – Worst performance for her to date. Sounded like she was
mailing it in tonight. She is getting very close to becoming stale and
predictable. Strong vocally , unique.
7. Casey James – I like his guitar playing , his voice is just ok.
Country rocker with very little edge in his performance , didnt excite
me at all.
6. Paige – Wow this surprises me too, 6th! Her best performance to
date. Great energy and emotion in her voice tonight. She sounded a lot
better when i re-watched the show on my stereo as opposed to just TV
speakers. She walked slowly around the stage as she sang , i found that
detracted from her performance.
5. Aaron – Nice tender soft voice, silky smooth , I find it pleasant to
listen to. Looks very stiff on stage , needs to show more emotion. Great
song choice!
4. Lee – He took more risks vocally tonight , I felt he loosened up
tonight and delivered his best performance yet. He is definitely improving.
3. Big Mike -…….. “The Dancing Bear ” ………Randy said he slayed
it tonight . I agree! The dancing was poor but his passion and emotion
showed thru with a strong vocal performance. Has some decent charisma on
stage.
2.- Didi Benami – I would love to play with her fire? Pretty Please?
Her best performance yet! Simon said she was solid not brilliant! I
agree , she makes me solid!
1. Siobhan – Very beautiful woman. Love her personality. Amazing voice!
She sounded better the 2nd time i listened to her. My favorite!
Definitely not a Dark Horse anymore . watch out Crystal!

. Crystal : She doesn’t need gimmicks.. glowing stairs..nothing.. Just her voice and her guitar are enough for her to be amazing.
2. Lee : ok.. this one was a toughie.. It was between Lee and Siobhan for my #2 spot…and as much as I love Siobhan…I had to give the edge to Lee. He sounded great, he made the song fit him, and I think he had one of his best performances last night.
3. Siobhan: I loved the start of the song.. I love how she sings the songs from her soul. But, the reason she’s #3, and not # 1 or 2.. is she was really shouty towards the end .. And the last note..wasn’t that great. If you compare the note she hit on Think..to the one she hit last night.. you will hear the difference on how off that note was last night. But..she still did great. Oh, and she looked fantastic.
4.Casey : Ok.. ok.. This isn’t just because I think he’s so pretty… I really loved his performance last night. He sounded great, and picked a song that really suited his voice.
5.Aaron : Finally..Aaron sings something that makes me see what the judges see in him. I thought he picked the right song for his voice, and he sang it well. I hope he keeps improving, because he is a talented kid.
6. Paige: She should lose her voice every week. She sounded so great.I think she chose the right song for her, and really sang it well. I think she has potential, and I hope she continues to grow, so she can prove that she deserves her spot..and didn’t just get it due to pitty votes.
7. DiDi : I thought she did fine. I want her to be great, because she’s so talented.. But I fear her nerves, if she doesn’t learn to control them, will get the best of her again.
8. Michael : Meh.. He was ok. Nothing more I can say.
9. Lacey: Oh Lacey.. how I wish you were better. I think out of all the girls, her voice is the most unique. And I think if she doesn’t pick songs that really suit her tone, she will meet the same problems Megan did last year. Megan was great..she just never picked songs that really made her unique voice stand out.
10. Tim: Tim.. Tim.. Tim.. Reggae? Really? You’re lucky you’re cute dude.. cause.. sheesh.
11. Andrew: :sigh: ok.. This wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great. He doesn’t know who he is yet, doesn’t know what kind of artist he wants to be. I think this is his biggest problem. If he survives this week.. he needs to figure out.. who he is..
12. Katie: OUCH.. Katie.. what WAS my ear drum YOU just Ruptured. THANKS.
Bottom 3: Andrew, Katie, Lacey
Will Go home: Andrew or Lacey
Should Go home: Katie

UGH
Not keen on anyone.
Nope.
OKay…
Big Mike had a decent vocal
Hilarious physical performance IMO
UGH I guess my problem is with who I *enjoy* and who I think will win
SO I’m just going to list it as who I tolerated listening to ‘performing’
The Rolling Stones.
Did I already say that?
Who is left to mention?
Oh yes I wish Katelyn had been around to actually sing a Stones song.
JMNSHO
AND Todrick to sing and PERFORM a Stones song. YUPPers.
Alex might have had an interesting InTerPreTation ![]()

I’m missing.. : ( Darn being an old lady and falling asleep so early.
Surprised at all the Siobhan love (actually I’m not). Wasn’t original at all – stealing way too much from a previous contestant – Adam Lambert II anyone? And Adam was my favorite last year – just don’t appreciate copycats. And that last scream was just that – a scream and totally unnecessary (nails on a chalkboard?).
The only contestant to give what I felt was a “honest” performance was Crystal once again. Not.Even.Close.
John in KC, you practically took the words right out of my mouth. Look, God knows I appreciate risk-takers, and I really admired what Siobhan was trying to do last night (it was kind of like a “Moulin Rouge” version of an Evanescence song). However, there is just NO excusing that ear-splitting, blood-curdling, Jamie Lee Curtis-esque scream at the end! If we’re going to crucify Danny Gokey for his bum note at the end of “Scream On” (and rightfully so- it was just dreadful), we have to do the same with Siobhan here. For anyone who wants to compare Siobhan’s (rather gratuitous) high note to the high notes that Adam Lambert hit last year (that includes you, “Idol” judges), I would really ask you to go back and listen to that performance again. There is a HUGE difference between Adam’s rock wail- which was nearly always in tune, btw- and the flat-out SCREAM that Siobhan let out last night. For the judges to say that performance was better than Crystal’s is just laughable (and before you call me a bitter MamaSox fan, please go back and read my previous comments about her; I don’t think that I’ve ever said anything as harsh about Siobhan as when I called Crystal “Taylor Hicks 2.0″). I really, really wanted to like Siobhan’s performance tonight, but the Gokey moment just ruined it for me. Sorry.
The majority of the remaining performances tonight were just too forgettable to garner their own mention, but I do think that we need to give special attention to a certain Mr. Tim Urban. With all due respect to the posters on this board, I think that we’ve all done Tim a great disservice (myself included). Like many of you, I thought young Timothy was merely a talentless cipher who was just scraping by in this competition via his good looks alone. Little did I know that, beneath his bland, suburban exterior, there lies the soul of a master comedian. I mean, it takes some kind of mad genius to take one of the nastiest, most misogynistic songs that Mick Jagger ever wrote and turn it into a harmless, Jack Johnson-style ditty that is custom-built to get votes from dopey tween girls. That one had me laughing all night. Bravo, Mr. Urban, bravo!!
just curious john in kc and rk349097 – What do you guys listen to the show with? TV speakers or do you have a stereo setup?
To answer your question, Doug, I watch the show on a HDTV with standard-issue speakers (they are allegedly stereo, although I don’t know about that). Even on this inferior set-up, though, I could still hear Siobhan’s voice going out of tune and even cracking on her big note. I doubt that a higher-end stereo set-up would have improved that. Maybe it’s just me.
Wondering why I was banned from making posts on your board. All I said was that I didn’t like Alex. Then someone said ban Steve and you did. I have told alot of people about your website and can’t understand why you would ban me.
What was you CHAT name and when were you banned?
Things are working now. My user name is guitarwizard55 and my first name is Steve
