Simon Cowell has reportedly offered Victoria Beckham a $1m-a-show deal to judge ‘The X Factor’ in the US.

The former Spice Girl appeared as a guest judge on ‘American Idol’ – the programme Simon is leaving to start his next US venture – in a show aired in the US on Tuesday night.

Despite being savaged by critics, the media mogul is said to be desperate to get Victoria to join him on the panel for ‘The X Factor’ when it launches in the autumn.

A source said: “Simon was trying to get hold of Victoria for a few days, keen to suggest a few ‘X Factor’ dates. When they did finally speak, she was incredibly flattered, not to mention surprised. ”

Although money was not discussed, the source claimed the minimum singer turned fashion designer Victoria would earn in a four-show deal would be $4m.

The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “However, if she was to become a permanent fixture she could earn tens of millions. Victoria told Simon she needs time to think about it as she is so busy right now. But Simon is incredibly charming, so who knows?”

Hmmm. I think it’s a mistake. She was beyond boring on the Idol premiere.

Really? I thought she was good. I barely missed Paula.

I second dhealy2003. Are you crazy, JoesPlace? She said, what, four words? Four useless words and a plastic rodent face. So insightful! Mary J. Blige was way better.

Paula <3. I miss her already.

I sure missed Pauler a lot.

I can’t think of anything significant Posh said. I can at least remember Mary J giggling obsessively—oh wait, that’s right…Beckham bickered with Simon for some bits. I guess that was enough.

Posh looked unhealthy and ghoulish…does she have a medical problem? If not she needs to eat more biscuits and/or lay off the cosmetic surgery. Mary J Blige was barely there. Paula? Paula who? Kara will forever be sleazy (that is what she called my Adam during his rendition of Feeling Good, and if she dies before me I will scratch that word on her tombstone!). I bet Ellen will be a charmer, and a well needed shot in the arm.

I can’t help thinking Simon could do a lot better than Posh. I thought she did okay but is ‘okay’ really enough? For that amount of money why not get someone huge with some potential for awesomeness. Whitney Houston for example…
