A few days ago I posted a RUMOR that had been floating around the net. That rumor? That AI9 Contestant Michael “Big Mike” Lynche may have been disqualified from the competition due to his breaking the confidentially agreement that Idol has all contestants sign. That story was quickly picked up by mainstream media, and as the old game of telephone works, that rumor was quickly turned into fact.
I will Reiterate IT WAS A RUMOR. To the best of my knowledge, Michael Lynche is still in the competition.
While it is evident that his dad Blabbed to a reported that his son had made the top 24, it may indeed turn out not to be Michael’s fault. His Dad may have been present during the Green Mile taping (Where the judges name their top 24). If that was the case, then Michael’s Dad may have known without Michael telling him.
I checked yesterday, and Michael was still in the competition, but anything can happen. However, I never posted that this was fact. Far from it.
