According to Life & Style, the Academy Award winning actor and singer is one of the names being tossed around to replace Cowell when he leaves “Idol” after the current season.

Cowell is leaving “Idol” so he can focus on bringing his British hit “X Factor” stateside in 2011.

Foxx is no stranger to “Idol,” either.

Nice guy, talented actor…. was just average when he was a mentor. I don’t think they need star power as much as someone who has a bit of attitude and is funny. Adding Shania as a judge (not to replace Simon) would be great idea or maybe even Jewell who is excellent!

Really?!?!? He does one movie about a famous musician, then all of a sudden jamie foxx is a music master. He puts out a CD of crap and people actually played along. He needs to stick to being an actor

Not a good choice!! Not a nice guy at all! My father in law is a limo driver and has driven him. He got upset about nothing and threw a fit… started saying..”Don’t you know who the f*** I am? I am Jamie G** D**n Fox!! Not someone we want on idol!!!

Am I the only one who thinks this wouldn’t be a terrible idea? I thought he was one of the best mentors they had last season… His Advice to Gokey.. made him have the best night he had the whole time he was on Idol….. He loved Kris..and saw the potential in him..He loved Allison.. I don’t know.. I don’t think this would be a bad idea.. I think he could give good advice… And..yes.. his “music” career didn’t take of..but you have to admit..that song is catchy…”Blame it on the A-A-A-A-Alcohol” … haha

I would say Neil Patrick Harris or Shania Twain to replace Simon, Not Jamie Foxx.
