Seriously I cannot believe how you all are going on about Adam vs Kris. I am in New Zealand and we dont get why popularity rules over singing in a singing competition but thats how it goes so either accept it or dont. I personally like Adam Lambert coming from a musical background as the daughter of a famous english singer/song writer, its very obvious he has unreal talents, and obviously the band Queen saw that also. I think all of you should support who you want to and let it go and concentrate on this years AI. At the end of the day if they have the talent they will stick around or they will fade away, doesnt make any difference comparing sales figures, album sales etc etc because in this business its all about stamina and stickability. PS Simon Cowell is a very nice man in person!

I disagree , to say the sales are inflated is not rational. No one held a gun to these peoples heads to make them buy the CD.

And i do believe there is a direct correlation of popularity and sales.

Yes Adam did way outsell Kris album wise. Yes albums cost more than singles. All I’m saying is Kris Allen would have sold close to that if not matched it album wise had a good portion of his fanbase bought multiple copies. Hence Adam not getting a lot of airplay. Radio is smart enough to see through inflated numbers. Plain and simple. Kris’s single has done well and seems to be outside the Idol bubble. I actually do like Adam. But inflated fanbase sales are just that … inflated and not a true representation of popularity.

Larc: I have absolutely nothing against Kris. In fact, I bought his CD as well as Adam’s. What I do have something against are Kris’s “fans” who voted for him, but then didn’t ante up when it came time to buy his CD. That’s shameful, IMHO.
