The UK Amazon site has 30-second previews of all the songs off “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert’s debut album “For Your Entertainment.”

You can hear the songs for yourself right here. My first impression? Half the album plays like a set at a dance club, which could be good or bad depending on your taste. The other half is more ballad-y, ranging from really slow to power ballad. The ballad stand-outs for me were “Broken Open” and “Soaked.” The 30-second clips of those songs left me wanting more.

I was pleasantly surprised by “Strut,” since it was penned by “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi. Did you guys know she’s written a bunch of songs? Yeah, crazy.

Best lyric off the album? “I was born with glitter on my face. Baby clothes made of leather and lace” from “Sure Fire Winners.” Excellent.

Unfortunately, since this an Amazon site and not iTunes, there is no 30-second clip of “Down the Rabbit Hole,” which the Lewis Carroll geek in me is very excited about.
