I want to hear your opinions on the addition of Ellen Degeneres as American Idol’s newest addition. I decided to only have two answer’s, Yes or No. I realize that many are somewhere in the middle, so really think about it.

Since I am one of the people who thought Paula was worthless as a judge, I can honestly say that Ellen will be no better in my opinion. I like her, but she’s a silly comedian who will add nothing to the critiques. She has no creds when it comes to judging music and musical performances or marketing. I probably don’t care because I have only watched AI a total of three seasons, and it was only because of Adam that I started watching season 8. I may be wrong, but I don’t see how they can top Season 8 in the first place, and Ellen certainly isn’t going to make it better.
Ellen is very funny. But, idol is a singing competition, it does not need any more jokes than the ones Simon cooks up. Is this just to keep Simon entertained while sitting there?
Bring Paula back, get rid of Kara.
Or put Ellen up there along side Ryan…that would be great.
AI ratings continue to decline, and the show needs a boost. If Ellen will generate new interest and bring in some new viewers/voters, than I am all for it. I wish Paula was still with the show and Ellen replace Kara, who I can’t stand. I know a few people who will tune in because of Ellen. Hopefully she will not try to take over the show, and will actually add some good feedback.
I hate to see Paula go. She got a little wacky in Season 8 with her giddiness over Adam, but I always appreciated the fact that she was a cheerleader for the competing idols.
Ellen is a comedian…she has no place being a judge on American Idol. Kara can hold her own against Simon, and (even though I will miss Paula) I was looking forward to only 3 judges.
