Bringing out Kris and Adam. Both lookin’ HOT in all white.everyone one their feet. Kris says it was emotional last night and Adam says Nervous and excited. Checking in with Conway with Miklah Gordon and in San Diego with Carly Smithson. Adam Screams to San Diego. Ryan sends them back to get their Rock Star On….Now the top 13 singing “So What” by Pink. Not Bad…But Jasmine…what was thsat note. ouch
Break time.
Ryan tells us that one year ago a bartender apoeared on this stage and turned into a superstar. Ladies and Gentlemen…David Cook singing “Permanent”. This song is dedicated to his brother, Adam. Cook is the best. David tells us that this song will be put on Itunes tonight and all proceeds benefit ABC Squared. David is giving up the title tonight and he says he has met both Adam and Kris. They are great guys and American cannot get it wrong.
Now the Awards: The Golden Idol’s First is Best Male. Nick Mitchel wins it. He comes up to the stage dressed noremally. Says he had no idea he he was winning anything. Thanks his sister. Then Strips and Sings “I am telling you”. Nothinmg will top this tonight for me. Go Nick! You are THE BEST DIVA EVAH. Kisses!

OMG OMG OMG! I know a lot of people didn’t want an Adam / Kiss duet – but dear freaking God that was brilliant. Lights, Kiss in makeup, Adam in the monster high boots (and thankfully not Kiss full makeup), that was all around magnificent and such freaking stupid fun. Just want I want in an American Idol finale.
Queen! OMG. I’ve hoped for that since the first moment I saw Adam. Even better, Adam and Kris with We are the Champions.
Ok, I think that might be my favorite duet of the night with a very close second to Adam and Kiss.

Well the good news is I’ll never watch AI ever again and can find something more productive to do with my time!!!!!!!! So in some ways that makes me a winner.

Um – ok. I think Adam deserved the win, but I’m ok with Kris. I think these were the best 2 once Allison went out. Kris won because fans voted for him. Simple as that. I’m already worried though that the religious right will take credit for it. Whatever.

I’m so glad Kris won! actually, i would have been fine with either. I find it annoying how people constantly assume as if Adam should have won and as if Adam is a better singer…yes Adam is great but so is Kris. They have different styles, and just because you have a greater range doesn’t not equate to a better singer for some of us. Anyways, congrats to both and I wish them BOTH success!!
Its not good to see the winner so incredibly over powered by the runner up. ADAM WAS ROBBED. Can’t wait to buy his album.
Obviously Danny’s midwest vote broke for Chris, which I expected. Adam will be better off in the long run NOT being tied into an AI record deal. Chris will be a niche singer, Adam has the potential to be a really big star.
Well, a majority of the 100 million will be back voting next year.
Not the result any of us expected but, frankly, it doesn’t matter. Both will be strong and, 10 years from now, we will all be downloading Allison Iraheta’s latest album anyway.
Congratulations to both Adam and Kris. Adam should have won but they, and a lot of the rest of these people, are winners who will have good recording deals.
There were no losers tonite and the show was great. Rock on, Adam!

What makes me sad about this is the focus on things that shouldn’t have mattered: religion, sexuality, producer’s overhype (through no fault of contestants). Kris is a nice guy with a future, but this finale did him a disservice in showcasing every step of the way that this was the season “Adam should have won.” Adam’s all-kinds-of awesome duet with Kiss, with Queen (oh, were there others singing?), every moment he was on stage with the top 13–he was so obviously the star. I’ve already got my tickets for the tour, and I will go on record right now: that concert is still going to totally be THE ADAM LAMBERT SHOW.
Sadly I thought Dialidol was going to be right – even kris was shocked that he won and he admitted that Adam deserved it.
Well, with 100 million votes and the skewed voting system, it could have gone either way , I suppose .
The real winner will be in record sales and both will do well , but Adam will be the superstar !
This is truly unbelievable. Adam has a one in 10 million (or better) voice. For him not to win this competition leads me to believe that there were other factors being judged besides voice and entertainment. This show is not worth watching or having anything to do with.

This is Rueben/Clay all over again isn’t it? I will stand firm in my opipnion that Kris needed the win soooo much more than Adam. Kris got how many magazine covers during the show? Zero. How many did Adam have?
But I’ve never seen such hatred in some of the comments towards Kris. Somone actually said that Kris and his wife will be split in a year. What sicko thinks that.
I would have been happy with either one wining, both are great in their own ways. Adam has the killer voice and Kris can really make a song his own and relevant.
And as much as the gay community cries out for tolerance, I would expect that Adam fans would be tolerant of this decision. This was not a gay decision, nor a religious right decision. And if your votes were based on this, then they were wasted.

I warned many times about hating on Danny with such a vengeance. Why would any Danny fan have voted for Adam? Nobody knows how much it swayed the vote, but it sure didn’t help.

makes a bet: Even if Americans yet again picked a new celeb in AI Kris Allen, his runner-up Adam Lambert will become a much, much bigger star than Allen will ever be. Allen’s cute and wholesome and can sing and all, but so could, in their times, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, and World Idol (who beat ALL the Idol winners in a one-off worldwide competition) winner Kurt Nilsen of Norway.

I am so ashamed of our society in this country. I like both contestants and feel so sad that neither one had the opportunity to win based on their talent and accomplishments alone. I think that Americans once again made this a moral decision. Allen is a great guy with a lot of talent. Lambert however, was the most talented and consistant performer. He deserved to win. I was hoping perhaps that
people had become a little more tolerant after watching our country sink into its worst period in years. It seemed like we were starting to progress by electing Obama. So we take two steps forward and one step back. I am beginning to see why other countries have such negative views of our society. We really are behind them in our progress. And yeah I realize its just a show. I just wish others would realize it and let people win because of their talent and nothing else. I love our country but I am so ashamed of our society.

Who ever won deserved it plain and simple…my favorite was Kris because I like his style of music more then Adam’s. It is just ridiculous how serious people get about somebody they don’t know losing. If Kris lost I wouldn’t care, because they will both have successful careers. Anyway, congratulations Kris! And congratulations Adam! You were the two best all Season long!

i think it’s truly unfair to diminish the win of a deserving contestant with such rhetoric…this country LOVES underdogs, this country was built on the backs of underdogs….kris was in the bottom ONCE as was adam, just because adam got more publicity doesn’t mean kris wasn’t getting votes, i think kris was the actual top vote getter for the past 4-5weeks…despite NO pimping…kris one, deserved to, if adam one he would have deserved it too.

My same sentiments, although my favorite second duet was Allison and Cyndi. ADAM certainly made KISS sound and look Hottt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of them were incredible with Carlos Santana. Congratulation Kris! So many levels of thoughts and feelings right now. I thought I would be so devastated if ADAM wasn’t validated with title of American Idol, when truth be told, most in the WORLD know what title he truly beholds, and were courageous with open hearts, to accept him as THE MOST consistent and talented ever on AI. Kris has this type of beautfil heart, and was able to to see this truth, and you can see how much he has been inspired with and celebrated along with ADAM all season. Surprisingly, I am not too crushed because I know ADAM got what he came for, and more. Kris truly did need this win more than ADAM. He will benefit by being given the equal attention to ensure his career flourishes by the Idol producers, and won’t be overshadowed by ADAM’s shadow. ADAM would not have it this way anyway, and will have his contract too. Kris is deserving of this title, but damn it still! ADAM was more deserving. Many firsts for me this season. First time I ever had cast a vote on AI, or any show ever. First time I had blogged comments for any show ever. (I still have never sent a fan any mail, or anything. This may be a first for that. We’ll see). First time I downloaded any software to auto vote. (DialIdol, Gizmo etc seemed more complicated than I had time for). Sorry ADAM and lovers! Aren’t I the casual voter and audience you were seeking this year AI? I have been so obsessed and fixated, and at last I can now return fully to my kids, husband, work, housework etc. I no longer have faith in AI and do feel I will go back to that passive viewer, so my time is not taken away from the things that are most important, since it won’t make a difference anyway. Ok, I guess I am feeling a little devastated still. I am 40+ and was asking my teen son how I can text vote faster. I do whole heartedly blame the flawed voting system of more than 1 vote per phone whether cell, landline, or computer generated vote. Oh well! Hell! One thing will get me through this tonight. For the first time I am actually really ok that my favorite didn’t win. Adam is going to have a massive monster career – that was already a given even before tonight but his duets just finalized the deal.
Jrg – you can’t really think Adam fans didn’t vote hard. Come on, be real. As I feared this year ended up being a Ruben / Clay year. That year Kimberly Locke went out in 3rd place and her audience went over almost 100% to Ruben bringing him to the win – though Clay had been leading the season for weeks. The same happened this year.
Simon did stand for the announcement, but just for a very short time. I suspect Paula may have pulled him to his feet – she had her hand on his shoulder during the short time I saw him standing. I think he might have been standing when the trophy was given to Kris. But when the cameras panned to Simon, he wasn’t standing. Bad form on his part. He knew the cameras would be there, and he was barely looking at the stage and applauding.
I’m on the West Coast and didn’t peek at the results, so I only just found out who won. Yes, I’m disappointed that Adam didn’t win, but I really do feel that things worked out the way they were supposed to. Adam won’t have to release stupid singles like ‘No Boundaries’, and he won’t have to carry around the stigma attached to the American Idol brand. He deserved to win. But now he’s free to do his awesomely freakin’ hot Glam thing. And Adam fans will forget all about American Idol, because it doesn’t matter anymore. Kris was such a sweetie when he said “Adam deserves this. I’m sorry.” That was amazing. The two of them will be BFF and everybody wins.
MY GOD, how breathtaking was Adam’s outfit when he performed with KISS? It was stunning. And his glitter eyeliner… his eyes are incredible. And his voice! I was mesmerized. It’s my hope that Adam brings Glam Rock back to the U.S., ’cause it’ll be such a rush to witness. When he was singing next to Brian May I got chills. He is a presence. Wow, that was really, really great. Kris was terrific, too.
The show’s over, we don’t have to worry about voting or results shows or Kara or any more weekly reality show crap. We have lots of Adam Lambert to look forward to, however.
Congrats to both Kris and Adam for what feels like a co-win. Nice guys really do finish first.

The nastygrams were coming from both sides. Just ignore the Internet noise and join in the joy that both Adam and Kris are experiencing now. The post-Idol hate messages will die down and become a distant memory.

I’m quoting myself… because I was wrong! :O Just checked iTunes and BOTH Kris and Adam have released ‘No Boundaries’. I’ve purchased every Adam iTunes single since the beginning. Will this be the one I don’t buy? Nah… I can afford $1.29 to show my support for my favorite Idol of all time.
Wow, I thought the link to 38 million votes coming from Arkansas alone was a joke… till i checked. WTF!! WTF!! Was this voting all legal and above board or a dialler scam type of thing? It absolutely makes a mockery of the current voting system and, fundamentally, of the ENTIRE AI concept, if 1 state can get “their” man into the winning slot like that. I hope Adam gets to hear about that -I think it will put everything into perspective on the voting for him.

The show last night was fantastic! I loved almost everything about it. Could’ve done without Steve Martin, Bikini Girl & Tatiana, but the rest? Superb. I was worried about Adam with Kiss but it was handled beautifully. My favorite part of the show next to QUEEN! How did they keep THAT under wraps? Awesome duet on We Are the Champions. I’m glad I was prepared for that ending, otherwise I would have shattered.
