Okay, if you want Adam to do something not in the 70′s or 80′s, I’d suggest Black Hole Sun, by Soundgarden. He could really make that song his own with his voice range. I have to stay with my Seattle roots here.

I guess someone who always seems to know these things has noted that it is now:

CLASSIC ROCK OF 70s and 80s.

So hopefully that might help people narrow their choices a bit.

My one and only suggestion as something not obvious but well known is
HOT BLOODED by Foreigner.

Let Adam be Adam FTW.

Ok, so this is my ‘Adam’ list. I’ve looked for songs that would allow him to use the full range of his voice, and still retain the original melody and mood of the songs…in other words, all he has to do is sing any one of them ‘as is’ and he will be amazing:

Piece of My Heart – Janis joplin
White Wedding – Billy Idol
Teen Spirit – Nirvana
Walk this Way/Dream On – Aerosmith
Sweet Child Of Mine/Welcome to the Jungle – GnR
Wild Horses – Rolling Stones
Layla – Eric Calpton version
Break on Through – The Doors

I know, most are ‘old’ songs, but these are the ones that came to mind when I consider Adam’s range and ability to make old things seem new again.

Seeing the powers that be at AI have decided that the world as we know it will end if they allow a song from after 1990 to be performed we are again stuck with music from 70s and 80s. Classic Rock this time – Whatever the hell that means.

So after due consideration of all options (and with my opinion of Journey well documented in previous posts) I have to SECOND THE SUGGESTION ABOVE.

HOT BLOODED by Foreigner.

Preferably performed glammed out to the max with glittery boots platform boots and flames shoot from him head.

bridgeymah: OK people here is my challenge to you all - come up with a list for each person that contains NO songs from before 1990.

For something more modern (as in late 90's, early 2000's), The White Stripes have a fantastic catalog that I think Adam could do really well with. Granted the more singer-oriented songs on that Jack White does are also more obscure, there's a couple that I think Adam could pull off. For instance, "I'm Lonely, but I Ain't that Lonely Yet" or "A Martyr for my Love for You" are both fantastic ballad-ish songs with oodles of emotion and falsetto.

I agree with Bob on Adam singing “Yesterday”. Perfect for him and perfect for a Rock and Roll ballad.

I also thought of “It’s a Man’s World” and watched that video a couple times today!

But I have changed my mind on the more upbeat song. I’d like to hear him sing “Under Pressure” Queen/Bowie.
Great song name for his present situation too!
