Here’s yet another set of supposed song spoilers from yet another source at EW. Take these with a huge grain of salt of course. (For one thing the Idols sing two songs this week, yet this poster seems not to know that). But they are fun to disect until something else comes along.
Directly from an anonymous member of Ricky Minors band here are some real spoilers which came in fresh this morning. Remember: these songs are the pics the Idols made before any dressed rehearsal but they are the real deal. Matt: ‘Fly me to the moon’ (originally Megan’s pick, but Matt insisted). Danny: ‘That’s Amore’ (his second pick is ‘i’ve got you under my skin’). Allison: ‘Can’t Take That Away From Me’. She already sung it during previous rehearsals and will probably do this one on stage. Adam ‘Leroy Brown’ or ‘That’s Life’. ‘That’s life’, was originally claimed by Kris (so don’t act all surprised if Kris comes out on stage with this one). Kris has chosen ‘Fever’ his second choice ‘That’s life’ might also be sung by Adam. And finally the groupperformance will showcast Allison in a leading role as the female voice in ‘Something Stupid’. Remember during rehearsals things might change.

Matt’s choice is great. Adam’s not so much – hopefully these are not the songs he will be singing.
These aren’t real. They sound interesting, but aren’t legit. Ricky Minor would NOT let anyone in his band release ANYTHING unless said person wanted to lose his/her job. WTF is Leroy Brown? Is that the 70s schlock rock classic Bad, Bad Leroy Brown? I bet Adam is singing That’s Life, and that is the only one I believe (not Kris).
If Hokey sings That’s Amore and looks toward the heavens, I will throw something at my TV set.

There is only one thing you can be 100% sure of with these spoilers – that they are 100% fiction. I am pretty sure there are some strongly worded contracts preventing any band members from releasing this information, so….
That being said, ” Adam ‘Leroy Brown’ or ‘That’s Life’” would be tragic as I HATE both of those songs. Adam seems to alwasy find song I don’t like then make them sound good anyway.
Still, ‘Leroy Brown’? Hard not to make that sound like the silly joke song that it is. ‘That’s Life’ is just corney and doesn’t sound like something Adam would pick.
We’ll see. If Adam actually picks a song I like I may fall out of my chair.
Matt’s is a good choice. Yes, Leroy Brown is not a rat pack song. Though Allison singing something stupid with the boys would be cute.
So the bigger question is, will be get one or two looks for Adam on Tuesday?

Adam just needs to get up there and sing. Love him, but I really don’t like the way he dresses the part. It looks like he is trying to create a performance instead of just perform. He has a great voice, he just needs to sing. Kris needs to dress up a little more. He is in a t-shirt every week.
Sinatra did sing Leroy Brown. It’s on one of his albums. I’m not buying these “spoilers” though, they’re wrong every week. It’s like 0 for 7 or something. If I had genuine spoilers the last place I’d put them would be in EW’s comments after all the false alarms coming from there.
I agree. Let’s just see Adam SING. It IS a singing competition. He doesn’t need to dress up or down. I think when he sang BoW and especially MW he looked most “Adam” (like I would know; maybe it was really BTBW?). But anyway, just put on a jacket and a pair of jeans. Then no one can accuse him of being a “showman” or “giving a theatrical performance.” Unfortunately, being Rat Pack week, I bet he really does it up for at least one of the songs. At least he can rock it out, ala BTBW, without any complaints.
I want to see Adam with his hair parted down the middle – he hasn’t done that yet.
I really don’t care what Adam wears (God knows i want him to wear as little as possible, but that’s besides the point), but he’s so handsome and he looks good in everything. That’s why i’m excited to see how he looks like on any performance day. But of course what i’m most interested in is his voice and his delivery of the song.
I didn’t know that “theatrical” involves wearing good clothes and looking darn good in them. His clothes aren’t like outlandishly colorful or fancy or anything. It IS a performance they’re putting on for everyone to see, and he’s just doing it a lot better than everyone else. I don’t see anything wrong with him donning a suit even if it isn’t something he wears normally, because ultimately it doesn’t compromise my enjoyment of his performance. It only enhances it
Remember, my dears, Adam is from the theatre. He will know how to change clothes and looks in a jiffy!
What I mean is that when Adam wears a suit, they make a big deal about it. When he dresses done, they don’t. Since his usual dress is emo, it DOES show up, and he does go for different looks (e.g., MW, RoF, ToMT, PTFM, and IICHY). Though I prefer him in his emo look, any is fine. HOWEVER, it is noticeable when he changes his look, and it HAS been in conjunction with the type of song he has chosen. SO…I would like him to just wear something simple (ala MW) and then sing the hell out of the song. That’s all that matters. That way, we can just focus on what he sounds like. When you see and hear him sing, say, Dust in the Wind at the Cabaret, it’s just him and the pianist. You don’t notice what he’s wearing (well, I do, but that’s me
). That’s what I’m going for.

Are we sure they’re singing two songs this week? I never heard Ryan say it last week and my TV guide is showing that AI is only an hour tomorrow. That’s gonna be a pretty tight schedule to fit 10 songs in when they were going over time with only 7 songs!
He looked the best for me at his audition. Hair down, no make-up, casual clothes. He sang great too. I think he always looks good on results night. I feel like he’s performing in a play when he is up there. During the slow, emotional songs, he is very subdued in the way that he is dresses. During the rock, fast songs, he dresses like a rocker with the make-up and hair. He can sing rings around the other contestants, he doesn’t need to do that. Though, I guess that’s why we are talking about him, because he changes things up. But, we are down to 5 singers who all sing really well. He shouldn’t try to change things up too much, might scare people/voters away. He needs to secure votes from fans of the contestants that were booted off. Lil’s fans might vote for Allison, Anoops’ might vote for Danny or Kris. Adam really needs to pick two great songs or I think he will be in trouble this week.
I think they are going to sing two songs, but my guess is that there won’t be any packages, and they will each sing once, then sing again before the critiques. That makes sense to me. Remember how Paula critiqued Jason from the dress rehearsal last season? Ugh. I hope they won’t pair up judges again, though. That sucked.
I COMPLETELY agree with Gina. The simpler, the better. Just look natural (Adam natural). That’s what Kris does, and it works really well for him. Allison has been panned for what she has worn, and I even think it can take away from her strong voice. I would hate to think that could happen to Adam, but since it has come up…
This. I have to agree. Actually throw in the Mad World results’ night ensemble (with the famous rainbow lips shirt). I’m strangely digging the frat boy look on Adam LOL. I love his hair and its color during the audition. I’m such a fangirl!
@suebrody: I agree with you, but i don’t think BTBW would have worked with, say, the IICHY black satin suit and vice versa, no? I actually applaud him for making the effort to dress the part (his stylist loves this about him too – from the AI website), but of course it gives people reason to complain tt “the theater guy has dressed up again”. Ugh…

I personally think that Kris’ wardrobe, like his songs and the way he sings them, has been boring and bland. But that’s just me. And that’s how Adam is different from Kris and that’s why i like him more than i ever can the Kris Allens of the world. Adam is full of color and Adam is exciting! I hope Adam will never take fashion cue from Kris! I can always tell Adam from the pack because he’s always the stylist one.
Idk, for me when it comes to live performance, i still think that i want to see the whole Adam, no holds barred (as far as is allowed on Idol anyway). If i want to focus on his voice only, there’s always the studio recording.
The AI official website says that there will be “two songs from each contestants”. There’s a caption underneath the promo picture for Rat Pack week.

I think an interesting idea when we get down to Top 4 would be to have all the contestants make one of their songs be the same song. That way we can really compare what each contestant does with the song.
On “So You Think You Can dance” they had all the contestants do the same dance.
Bill, they do that when it comes down to the final 2. I think I’d get tired of hearing the same song 4 times within an hour! lol.
Well, I have my DirecTV DVR set to run 15 minutes over. Actually, at this time, I’d prefer one song from each and have it run full length. I thought Adam’s song last week was far, far, far too short.
Glenda, good idea. I better do that, too, because YOU KNOW they will run over. Maybe it’s only by 3 minutes, but without Nigel, they cannot get it together (having Kara also eats away at the clock, b/c, you know, it’s all about ARTISTRY).
I guess what I want is for Adam to come out in a simple leather jacket and pants and SING THE HELL OUT OF A SONG. Give me Mad World over and over again and I would never leave my TV set. And I do wish we got more than 90 second snippets from the singers. It’s ridiculous.

I certainly hope these are fake – I’d like to think Adam has better taste than either of THOSE two horrible songs! Plus, I would KILL to hear Allison sing “Fever” – yes, she could do it, although she might get a skewering for singing something “too mature”! – but NOT that bland, boring Kris, that classic, great song would be wasted on him – he just does nothing for me. Couldn’t care less what Gokey or Matt plan to sing.
Not criticizing his clothes, just the way he performs the songs. I like how he looks and dresses, but I feel sometimes like he is performing the song like he would if he were in a play. I like Kris, though, I also think Kris is boring. I’m not saying Adam should go out there in sing in a t-shirt, but he doesn’t need to put on a suit either, and slick back his hair. He just needs to sing a really good vocal. I wish he would do more of a traditional ballad, instead of taking a faster song and making it into a ballad. I would love if he sang “The Prayer” at some point. Maybe for judges pick, if he hopefully makes it to the top three. We need to vote.
I’m assuming the spoiler is a total fake. First – it’s riddled with grammatical errors (although I guess that doesn’t really prove anything), Second – I dislike Adam’s “picks” and Third – we’ve been burned on this before.
I love his different looks. If I wanted bland I’d be a Kris fan. However, I think to grab more casual viewers it might be a good thing for him to wear something similar to his audition clothes & show that he’s a regular guy. Even though he’s NOT!

2nd: They won’t be performing 2 songs each. This week’s episode is only scheduled for 1 hour so not enough time.
I expect the video packages to be back with Natalie Cole as a mentor although her father, Nat, was not a member of the Rat Pack.

MJ’s Big Blog claims that Jamie Foxx is the mentor for Rat Pack week (also mentioned at VotefortheWorst.com). Is this true? Is there enough time for ten songs (2 for each contestant) and those useless mentoring clips?? And why Jamie Foxx?? Why not someone like Michael Buble or Diana Krall?
