How about a ‘duet’ between Slash & Adam…Slash plays while Adam sings…I like that scenario…plus Slash would feel right at home if Adam sang a GnR’s tune…sigh.

Just kidding. I really do not want to see or hear any duets, I want to see each person sing their heart out, 1 at a time. It’s the fair thing to do.

That said, I agree with Bridgey: It’s to save time and it’s gimmicky. This is NOT a show about duets, or fronting a bad, it’s about being a soloist, and when you get down to Top 4, THAT is what I want to see.

But think of the possibility of an Adam/Allison duet: You could go the Leather and Lace route (not rocky enough, though)…You could definitely go Meatloaf…I need to think of others.

PLEASE DO NOT HAVE IT BE DANNY AND ADAM. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

(But watch it happen as a prelude to the finale, and they it ends up Kris and Allison instead…*sigh*)

American Idol is like politics. Before you get the power, you have to first win. If Adam wants to win, he needs to consolidate the middle. He already owns his fanbase – they will love anything he does. He needs to capture those new voters than only watch once we get down to the end and only vote a few times. If he loses those to Gokey/Kris/Allison, his season is over.

Now Adam can go for the pure artistry thing and lose, or he can be commercial, and win.

If he is smart he will win first, then once he has been crowned, bring out the artistry. As Simon said early in the season, AMERICAN IDOL IS NOT ABOUT ARTISTRY. He is right, it’s not. I think after 8 seasons, Simon knows of what he speaks.

As far as FB is concerned, even Adam himself (according to Matt) said he didn’t like his performance. So he and I agree. It doesn’t matter if Adam’s diehard fans loved it – they are biased. What matters is did average Joes with no bias for or against Adam love it? Apparently not since he was bottom 2.

If we get another ROF or BF style performance on Tuesday, Adam’s journey on idol is over.

P.S., With regards to the “Let Adam be Adam” comment. That’s just my point. Adam’s isn’t being Adam, Adam is being what he imagines a rock star should be. That is why so many people struggle with his image, because it isn’t altogether honest based upon what we have seen of Adam in the past. He seems “theatrical” because he is “acting”.

So, who is the real Adam? I would say that the PTFM Adam is pretty close to his core. He looks the most at ease in that performance of anything. The suit and tie is too conservative and the pure emo is too emo.

Bully for them they get to have another ad break. Sucks for us we don’t get two performances per usual.
