American Idol’s doing songs from the year you were born, but Anoop Desai and Allison Iraheta, or Matt Giraud and Scott MacIntyre aren’t going to get any treats when the vote totals are in say our experts.
At this stage, we’re assuming Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey with their huge fan bases are pretty much safe every week barring a complete meltdown, so really Kris Allen and Lil Rounds are the only other possibilities for the bottom three.
I have the fear that tonight is going to be another trainwreck in terms of song choice.
The contestants need clear themes and celebrity mentors. Otherwise they wind up picking songs for sentimental reasons (‘I love this song!’ ‘My mom loves this song!’ ‘The words really speak to me!’), instead of songs they can actually sing.
As for who’ll get cut, two sets of predictions this week; first up, Daniel Bubbeo:
Lowest number of votes: Allison Iraheta. To quote the judges, she could sing the phone book. But with a fan base seemingly on hold, her number may be up. Song she should do: Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road” from 1992.
Second lowest: Matt Giraud. “Dueling Piano” guy wasn’t too grand doing The Fray last week. His lack of charisma doesn’t help. He should sing (and plead for) “One More Night” (1985) by Phil Collins.
Third lowest: Anoop Desai. ‘Noop Dog bit off more than he could chew doing Usher last week. Song for the “Idol” underpup: 1986′s “Stuck With You,” our fate with Anoop for a little longer.
I think Allison‘s going to pull off a blockbuster tonight and rally her fan base; not as sure about Anoop or Matt, both of whom I also like.
I think at this point Anoop is either really good or really bad; Matt has tended to be more steady, if also a bit more boring.
Next up is Ronnie Gill, who predicts:
Lowest number of votes:Scott MacIntyre. “All I Need” is for Scott to pick Jack Wagner’s syrupy 1985 love song and for Simon Cowell to tell him he sounds like a cruise ship singer. Fingers crossed he’ll sing it, Simon will say it and America will listen.
Second lowest: Anoop Desai. “No One Is to Blame” but Anoop for following Randy Jackson’s bad advice to turn up the energy of his performance. If he chooses Howard Jones’ 1986 hit he might make it to another week.
Third lowest: Matt Giraud. I like Matt and it would be “Heaven” if he stayed safe. Picking this Bryan Adams 1985 song worked for Elliott Yamin and Matt’s R&B vibe and riffs should suit it equally well.

I think it will be Allison, Scott, Anoop followed by Matt in votes. Knowing the judges, Allison is SAFE; their blind love (no pun intended) for Scott will get him either the pimp spot and/or polite feedback for more votes. And their obvious dislike for Anoop followed by Matt will make Anoop most vulnerable given they have successfully created a negative image of him from last week’s talk-back live coupled with the not so positive song choice spoiler floating around against his favor. Really hate shouty Lil, pains to see her also advance past like she really deserves all of the fawning from the judges and the unbelievable votes she is getting!
4 out of 8 are predicted to go home, you realize that’s a 50% chance of getting it right…nothing impressive.
With the chosen ones reigning supreme anyone can come up with lists like this.
If the song spoiler list that has been going around is accurate, I think that the bottom three this week will be Anoop, Scott and Matt, with Anoop going home. All three of these guys are allegedly singing very cheesy songs that will do them absolutely no favors with the judges or the audience (especially El DeBarge’s abysmal “Who’s Johnny”). I know I’ll probably be wrong with this (not knowing what the future theme weeks are), but I’ll go out on a limb and predict the order of elimination from here on:
1. April 8: Anoop
2. April 15: Scott
3. April 22: Allison (The veto will be used here)
4. April 29: Allison, Matt
5. May 6: Lil
6. May 13: Danny
7. May 20: Adam
WINNER: Kris
In my opinion, Kris is the producers’ new chosen one, as Adam is just too polarizing for middle America and Danny will not be able to sell records outside of the contemporary Christian market.
My early predictions for tomorrow’s bottom 3…
Lowest – Matt. Wasnt in the bottom 3 last week, and the vote splitting between him, Anoop, and Kris has to catch up to one of them this week. Considering Kris’ current momentum and Anoop fans bouncing back from last week, I think Matt’s in trouble.
2nd lowest – Anoop. Theyll bounce back, but I dont think theres as many of them left anymore.
3rd lowest – Allison. Simply because she is always there (strong belief she was there for the top 13).
I think it will be Allison, Scott, Anoop followed by Matt in votes.I have posted some related topics on kissBBW.c o m,there are so many big beautiful women with big bras and big butt.
