Underdogs Rule….Go Felicia Barton
I’m actually pretty excited tonight. Felicia and Lil are obviously ones to keep an eye out for, along with Scott as well. I think that the three of them have the most potential to move on to the top 12. As for people to crash and burn? Jorge, Kendell, Kristen, Von, and Nathaniel. I’m sure somebody will surprise us, but I think out of those 5 a few will do horribly. This group has the potential to be the worst or possibly surprise us and be the best.
pic on survivorsucks shows matt g ricky and anoop together in l.a. with other top 12ers(alexis and kris i think) that must mean that they are there for wildcard although it was obvious they are wild card but if true its not fair since maybe tonight all 9 that go out deserve the wild card more than them
You know, Von is a nice guy and he sounds fije but he just doesn’t do a thing for me.
Is something wrong with the sound system this year? I swear I can barely hear people.
Von was amazing! I thought Felicia was great, too. The judges were mean. I was not bored.
OMG, that may be the most horrifically oversung stank-fest I have ever heard. It’s too bad because he has a nice voice but wow, that was horrid.

I agree. Not just the sound but the music in general, very weak and the arrangements suck. And it seems that the ones who make it through have much better arrangements than the rest of the pack.
So far, I like Felicia alot. Voice is good, could be better but I definitely think she deserves anothe shot. Scott is o.k. but I think the producers want him in front of a keyboard. He’ll be back.
I gotta say, I love me some Jorge – dude is top 3 material. I may even go so fr as saying he is the best “pure” singer in the competition. Adam is a great singer, but he uses some gimmicks. Jorge just has a voice.
This guy could be a major latin recording artist tomorrow. i agree, getting rid of the accent is a shame.

My guess for tomorrow is Lil Rounds, Felicia and Jorge. They need two girls.
Did anybody else notice that the drums in Lil’s performance sounded like a 5 year old banging his heart away?
Anyways, I think it should be Scott, Lil, and Felicia going through. Though Jorge might be replacing Felicia.

Lil was great but we knew that already. Jorge was strong tonight i was impressed with him.I also liked Junot, i thought he did a good job.
Oh one more thing alot of people were commenting that the third group was the weakest this year, to me they were the strongest overall!
Scotty McIntyre is running almost #1 on DialIdol. Honestly, I just don’t get it.
Let’s tell it like it is – that same vocal tonight if he wasn’t blind and the judges boo him off the stage. I hear nothing from him that sounds good.
I agree with you doug. i was not actually planning tonight’s show because i thought lil was the only one to watch, and sorry to say, i am not her big fan. i liked junot’s performance. i didn’t like the judges’ reactions, though. thought they didn’t praise him enough, though they knew he did great, because they want somebody else to get the spot.
I thought tonight was good, just not as good as last week. What about Kristen? She was great!

Obvious choices going through: Lil and Jorge. The real toss up is does Felicia or Scott get the #3 spot?
Haven’t seen it yet. On Dial Idol Scott and Lil, the two producer TCOs of the night are cleaning clock and getting their silver seats shined up.
There is, as expected, a horendous battle for the last spot with, if you believe it, Felicia Barton running 6th overall behind Junot, Jorge and…….Nathaniel.
But they are so close it is impossible to call.
Just sayin’.
Just a thought. If Nathaniel gets in we at least know who goes on tour: the ten finalists not named Nathaniel Marshall and Michael Sarver.

She was the only contestant who wasnt exceptionally pimped (or planted) by the producers who really killed it!
Am I the only one that was annoyed that Ju’not sang the same song he sung in Hollywood? I thought it was kind of crappy… especially since they SHOWED him in Hollywood. I also though Jamar did a MUCH better job with the song in Hollywood and he should’ve made it in the top 36 over Jamar. Just my thoughts though. I just thought it was crappy that the judges fussed at Taylor for using the same song and then pretty much praised Ju’not (well, Paula was the only one that mentioned it was the same song). I mean, he wasn’t horrible, but he was supposed to show us something different than what he’s already done and I don’t feel that he did.
Jorge/Lil/Scott did the best, I thought they would. Lil & Scott are locks for Top 3, third spot is up for grabs mainly between Felicia and Jorge. I hope Jorge gets it; Felicia’s nice too though, she’ll be a Wild Card, along with Ju’Not.
And why go on dialidol? Doesn’t it just kill part of the show for you? Surely you can wait a day to see the results. I dunno, just seems like needlessly spoiling yourself.
You can’t go with Dial Idol for the third spot…. last week the third on dial idol was Matt and it was given to Nick…
We shall see what they decide tomorrow. I do think the judges complete the decisions for the third placer…. It is going to be a tour of 9 guys and one gal – probably Lil. b o r i n g…
Like Shane said. In people who should come out of this competition it is Jorge/Lil and Scott. I am pained to say it because, once again Scott’s vocals were shaky but I can see giving him this pass, and that is what it is, a PASS into the top 12 so we can see him with his instrument. Still, based on straight vocals, Scott DOES NOT deserve to be in the top 12. How many times does he have to be shaky before he stops getting that pass? To me, he has reached his pass limit. Next time he is mediocre he should be gone.
I really, really like Felicia, more than I thought I would. In my opinion she could be a recording artist. To me, she goes through instead of Scott, but that is not the way it will play out and, that being said, she has not a snowball’s chance in Hollywood of winning a wildcard slot, although I am sure she will be there.
Jorge, I think he squeaks it out over, believe it or not, Von. I know he screams but he had a good solid performance that had no weaknesses, certainly more than you could say for any of the guys. However, I don’t think he can win this competition although I think he deserves another shot in the wildcard round. Jorge has a chance to win this competition. He has a different sound and I think he deserves a spot in the top 12 because he is good and he is different and offers us a different look instead of more of the same.
So it SHOULD be Jorge, Lil and Scott with the latter getting the aforementioned pass because Von can’t possibly win this thing.
As far as Ju’Not, he has those mellow tones that bomb out, in a strong year, about 9 or 10. I don’t think he should be here because, unlike Lil, he doesn’t have anything that makes me think he will do anything but squeak onto the tour bus…or maybe not quite make it TO the tour bus. I don’t want to pass a guy like that through to the top 12. We already have one of those in Michael Sarver. We need people who can win this competition and Jorge, Lil and Scott, if he is as marvelous playing/singing as the judges think he is. But Ju’Not, I am thinking not but would not be surprised if he at least gets another chance along with Von in the wildcard.
1) Von Smith (Really good performance. I liked how he held back from going over the top and then belted out. Why do the judges critique him for being over the top and don’t say the same to Adam, and this is coming from a huge Adam fan. I do think sometime soon though Adam needs to tone it down once like Von did tonight. 8/10.)
2) Taylor Vaifanua (I really like her tone and she has a good voice, but she is generic like the judges said and I felt she cried afterwords because she looked nervous during her performance. I loved the glory note toward the end and the ending was better than the shaky beginning. 6/10.)
3) Alexander Wagner-Trugman (Funny guy, I like him as a person, but his voice is not very good. Too much growling, although the kick stand was funny. 4/10.)
4) Arianna Afsar (Yes, it wasn’t a great song choice picking this ABBA song, but I really liked what she did with it and there is no denying this girl can sing! She really has a mature voice for a 16/17 year old and was miles better than Stevie/Jasmine/Taylor for the teen department. 7/10.)
5) Ju’Not Joyner (At first I thought oh great the same song from Hollywood, then I thought hey this is cool. I liked how he started slow and built up to the beautiful ending. This guy has a really soulful sound to him. And I absolutely hate Hey There Delilah and he actually made it listenable to me! 8.5/10.)
6) Kristen McNamara (I really like her voice, but this was disapointing to me. The arrangement was weird, and she didn’t really pick a song to show off her voice and she seemed bored up there. I love the high notes at the end where she finally showed off her range, but again disapointing. 6.5/10.)
7) Nathaniel Marshall (He’s interesting yes, he’s dramatic yes, but he does not have a very good voice, more karaoke. And I prefered his Disturbia cover from Hollywood more like Paula pointed out. 5/10.)
9) Scott MacIntyre (I like him, he seems like a nice guy and he has a good voice, but this vocal was not perfect. It was good and the ending note was really good. See I don’t know what there talking about we have to see him on the piano, because that’s where his magic is, we saw him during Hollywood singing Home and I didn’t think it was all that great either. I don’t know, not a huge fan, yet. 7/10.)
10) Kendall Beard (Cute girl, the generic pretty blonde country singer. Not in Carrie’s league but she has a good voice and fun personality. Wasn’t the best performance and I doubt she will make it to the finals. 7/10.)
11) Jorge Nunez (I haven’t really liked him up to this point as I felt all he would sing is boring slow songs where I felt he would shout at me. But tonight, Jorge brought it. I thought it was very good, he showed emotion, less of his accent, although I agree I kind of like him with it, I don’t know yet. And the crying gets you to the next round, ask Jasmine Trias and Syesha Mercado, so we will see you Jorge next week. 8/10.)
12) Lil Rounds (Okay I am not a huge fan of Lil, I think she is second most overrated and only Danny beats her. But tonight she looked great, she sounded great and she controlled her shouting. And while I don’t think she’s anywhere good as past Diva belters such as Melinda, LaKisha, Syesha and Jennifer she will be here for a long time. 8.5/10.)
Who should go on: Felicia, Lil, and Von or Ju’Not or Jorge
Who Will go on: Lil, Scott and Jorge (The only person undeserving of moving on is Scott in my opinion.)
But Wildcard picks: Felicia, Von and Ju’Not.
obvious 2 who are making it through are lil and scott and because the guys did so much better tonight im picking felicia for the 3rd spot. all the guys except alex did a good job and alex will steal votes because people like him, but for the girls only lil and felicia sang well so the majority of people who prefer voting for girls will go to those 2. if not felicia i’d say von or nathaniel have the best shot from the guys left remaining.
I really hope Felicia makes it!!! It better be 2 girls and 1 guy, or the wild card will be wo cruel for the guys!

Lets face it…Lil Rounds could have sacrificed a baby on stage and the judges would STILL praise her. “That high scream from Baby Timmy was so on pitch. Yo it don’t matter how old you are. At six months yeah yeah.” I did not like her as much as Felicia and Jorge. I hope Felicia makes it through.
Well, if DialIdol is to be believed, Jorge is in potential trouble. Weird that he was in solid 3rd place all night, then overnight, Ju’not and Nate SURGED FROM NOWHERE to overtake him.
If, in fact, Jorge is eliminated, that will mean that 2 of the BEST SINGERS in this whole competition have been wiped out(Braddy and Jorge), which would be a terrible shame.
I am still amazed by the strength of Scott Mac. I hold that if not for his blindness, he would never have even made the Top 36. Face it, every time he sings there are at least a dozen bad notes – but he gets a pass.
I don’t think we’ve heard all that Adam can do, Satisfaction is not a singers song. He’ll be showing his voice next week.
I think Lil and Scott will sail through. Ju’Not might be an upset for Felicia/Jorge, but maybe not. Most likely, one of the two will advance to the Top 12 (probably Jorge), thus giving the judges incentive for at least ONE more girl (Felicia, hopefully) via Wildcard.
I hope all this speculation that the BIG CONTROVERSIAL TWIST has to do with a Top 13/14.

Have been saying the same thing about Scott. Right now I am OK with giving him a pass IF Jorge makes it.
I am really OK with one of Megan and Felicia, as that is what I think it will be on Thursday.
However, if it is Anoop, Ricky, Matt G. and Jorge for two spots I think there is a 50-50 chance they could cut the next American Idol.
I hope tonight is two guys and one girl AND that guy is Jorge because, if not, I am really, Really, REALLY hating that Michael Carver pick. REALLY.
Also, Alexis is still looking like a whore, and now having an fourgy with these boys to prove it.

You have to think that the Puerto Rican votes aren’t really forcast in Dial Idol – so it’s very possible Jorge will still grab that #3 spot from Ju’Not. I don’t think it’s over for him just yet. And if he doesn’t make it tonight – he’ll be in the Wildcard. The judges keep saying how they want someone “with an accent” on the show. And has anyone else noticed a skew away from the typical Blonde bombshell’s they usually have on the show? Tells me the Idol Producers want a different flavor for this years Idol.
Went for Jorge, and then…the rest. I actually liked Von a lot, but he has exactly NO chance. I am not a Lil Rounds fan (never have been), and I appreciate Scott’s story, but if he was not visually impaired, he would have had NO chance of advancing. I liked Felicia a lot, too, and appreciate HER back story.
My top 3 does not look like anyone else’s, and if Ju’Not gets in, I will throw a shoe at the TV set. I hope Dial Idol is wrong on this one. My guess is that it is Scott, Lil Rounds, and Jorge.
