Kara: It was beautiful

Kris MP3: Kris Allen – To Make You Feel My Love

Lil Rounds – Independence Day

Randy: “Interesting song, too ambitious”

Kara: “We all know you are a great singer, but we didn’t get the Lil we fell in love with till 2nd half of the song. Not your best”

Paula: “I think everything is going right for you tonight, the only thing would have worked better if you only sand one verse then sang the corus”

Simon: “Look Little, Lil, whatever, for me it was the kind of song you sing at a wedding. It looked uncomfortable”

Lil interrupts, and Simon says “May I talk, Little” LMAO

Lil MP3: Lil’ Rounds – Independence Day

Adam Lambert singing Ring of Fire

(Randy Travis has no clue what to make of Adam)

Kara: “So, Adam does Country. I’ve never seen a country type of rendition. I don’t know what to make of it. Speechless”

Paula: “You are really someone who stands out and who is true to who you are. Cashmere Zeppelin feel”

Simon: : What the hell was that? I would never go to Nashville. A lot of people throwing Televisions out. Absolute indulgent rubbish. Horrific”

Randy: “Nine Inch Nails doing a country song. Current, fresh, hot”

Adam MP3:Adam – Burning Rings of Fire

Scott McIntyre sings Concrete Angels

Paula” Another impressive, lovely performance. Piano, a bit of a crutch”

Simon: “Nothing wrong with sitting behind a piano. I think, for me, all songs similar.”  Scott tells Simon he’s lost a lot of hat picks”

Kara: We want you to up your game:

Scott MP3: Scott – Concrete Angels

Alexis Grace sings Jolene

Randy: “It’s a great song but there were pitch problems. not a great performance”

Kara: “I think you lost your edge a little bit”

Paula: “I think that song was more effective for you than the others think. You showed different sides of your vocals.  I don’t care about pitch problems”

Simon” I thought it was ok.  It was a little soundalike.  I think we will forgetabout the performance in about 10 minutes”

Alexis MP3: Alexis – Jolene

Danny Gokey sings “Jesus, Take the Wheel”

Kara: “When you hit your stride, it is like none other.  The front have was not great, but the back half was wow”

Paula: “You were brilliant. Carrie Underwood would buy that record”

Simon: “I don’t know if she would buy it, but I agree with Paula.  My problem is what you are wearing”

Randy: “I agree with Kara.  The chorus you blaze but the verses need better support.  A little pitchy”

Danny MP3: Danny – Jesus Take The Wheel

Anoop Desai singing  “You Were Always on My Mind”

Paula: “Anoop is Back. I’m really proud of you. You touch my heart”

Simon: “ You’ve just managed to go from Zero to Hero. One of my favwe performances. Good for you. I take back what I said, you deserve to be here”

    wtf!!!

    Where is Matt G

  3. Ali says:

What did simon and randy mean when they said allison was dope?

  4. Willo says:

Tonight’s theme = Country Music. And I think this was the first AI Season where the contestants as a majority twisted the song choice to fit their own style. It was rather refreshing to hear.

That being said – and knowing Country week is always difficult for the contestants – I found something wrong with everyone’s performance this week .. except .. Adam. Don’t die of shock – I actually really enjoyed his performance.

OK – hear me out before you disagree. I’ve noticed a trend that last year – the whole “Boli-wood” genre is becoming more prevalent in American music and dance. The kids are eating it up – and I do’t blame them. It’s a fun genre – its fun to watch – and I”m sure it would be fun to dance as well.

Adam was spot on in selecting this version to perform this week. he’s trying to establish himself as that alternative rocker who is going to surprise you every week. The Asian influence is totally relevant to what the kids today are listening to. It was a brilliant choice – and her performed it brilliantly. My only fear is – the TWEENS and the older ladies won’t get it. And they won’t vote for him. However – Adam has the support of the Musical Theater crowd – and a huge online following so I’m not that concerned.

Getting lost in the shuffle tonight – and at risk of going home are Lil Rounds, Scott and Megan. I’m placing them as my bottom three. I really and truly think Lil is at the greatest risk of having the fewest votes this week – talk about your shockers! But … she’ll be saved by the new Judges rule. They won’t let her go home this early.

Megan’s saving grace will be how much the judges mentioned her illness. It was evident to me she was sick when she wasn’t hitting the notes – I’m not sure someone who hasn’t performed would notice. The judges did her a HUGE favor of only mentioning the illness and not crticquing her performance. Because it sucked – illness or not – it was bad. She should go home next.

Scott will be saved because of his disability. I’m not saying that to be cruel – it’s the truth. People want to see hi do well so they’ll vote for him. His performance this week was much better than last week – and I think he’ll continue to grow as an artist if given a chance. I’m keeping my fingers crossed he makes it to the Top 10 … because I think he’s the one who will benefit from the coaching the most.

    Other top performers tonight – Matt, Anoop and Alison. Matt killed the last note – in a bad way – but that was the only thing I saw wrong with his performance. Alison was just amazing – and Anoop surprised me. {he’s a handsome kid!}

I enjoyed Kris and Alexis – but I’m not jumping up and down over their performances. Michael Sarver – just taking up space – they need a country sound on the tour. He could go home next week and I wouldn’t notice.

Now Danny … you guys know that I adore Danny. He wasn’t at his best tonight … but I totally understand why he selected that song. My relationship with God isn’t the best … we’ll call it a hate-hate thing going on between us. But after the hubby passed away “Jesus Take The Wheel” became a relevant song in my life. And not really in a spiritual way where I thought God would control my life .. but in a way that I knew my life was on a total crash course and I had to rely of Fate to get through that time.

Danny’s a Christian – and the whole religion battle going on over AI right now could have played in to his song choice this week. It ran through my mind when I heard he was going to sing this one. BUT .. I think it held a more personal reason for him. He did start off a bi shaky .. but the end was amazing!

I’m going to go broke this year downloading performances off of iTunes.

Bottom three: Lil, Scott, Megan. Lil fewest votes – but saved by the judges.

  5. CMT says:

1.Michael Sarver – Not bad. I liked it. Not boring. Country suits him well. He should stick to it.(7/10)
2.Allison Iraheta – I love her voice. She gave the song her original touch. From the girls she is the one I like the most. (8/10)
3.Kris Allen – Wow! He impressed me tonight. I totally like his voice. Very sweet to the ears and nice to the eyes. (9/10)
4.Lil Rounds – The high notes were good. The low ones were not. Not a fan. (6/10)
5.Adam Lambert- OMG! maybe I’ll regret this later but, totally hated it. It was different but, not in a good way. Too Gayish. (6/10)
6.Scott – He does not have the best vocals but, I liked it. It was pleasant. Fun. Maybe because it was a fun song. (7/10)
7.Alexis Grace – She likes to scream a lot. Didn’t like it. Bored the hell out of me. It felt forced. (6/10)
8.Danny Gokey – First part was not good. Chorus was much better. He always makes me feel like I’m in a church or something like that. Good vocals. (8/10)
9.Anoop – It was good, not great, but really good. Step it up from last week. Even though I like his voice, I don’t think he has much more to offer. (8/10)
10.Megan – I like her unique voice. She is very original. I liked it. (7/10)
11.Matt Giraud – He definitely has a lot to offer. Great performer. Great talent. Good commercial voice. He reflects lots of emotion. One of the best vocals of the competition. (9/10)

I’ll be voting for>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kris Allen

  8. Phoenix says:

I love Allison sooo much and her performance was really good this week and she is ranked before Alexis but after Scott and Mike. PLEASE VOTE FOR ALLISON!!!!!!! CALL 1-866-436-5702 OR TEXT 5702!!!

  9. gcon says:

    Matt G rules!!!

  10. CMT says:

I made a Huge error on the comments: the comment “Fun. Maybe because it was a fun song”. Was intended for michael sarver, not scott. Sorry!!

  11. suebrody says:

I know most of you are aware of the fact that I LOVE Adam. I think he is by far the most talented singer on the show. That said, I did not enjoy his performance tonight. I am a big Nine Inch Nails fan, but this was just too out there for me. It was too much (for me) like Adam saying, Hey, I hate country music, so take THIS, GOO. It was funny to see Randy Travis’s face when he saw Adam’s fingernails. ;) But I was really hoping to see another side of Adam, the side we saw when he sang “Is Anybody Listening.” He has such range and can go subtle to ginormous, but this was just too…I don’t know. I guess it didn’t work for me. Actually, pretty much no one worked for me except Matt. Sigh. Majorly disappointed, but if Megan “flu-ish” Joy goes home, I’ll be satisfied.

  12. Mike says:

I like Cash and “Ring of Fire” is such a great song the way Johnny does it. I got to hand it to Adam though. It was hypnotic and mesmerizing, it totally blew me away. Yea, it was out there, but I enjoyed it in a really weird way. I’ll think he’ll get through no problem, but it will be interesting to see what he does next week. One thing I noticed is that he wanted to pull his shirt up when he was singing…like he was making the song erotic. Was I the only one who noticed? But the dude has pipes.

  13. cheers says:

To CMT, I agree with you…your ranking and your statement is almost right.

  14. Rachel says:

Well you all know that I love Adam and can’t stand Danny, but BOTH were AWFUL tonight! Ouch.

    Here’s my rankings:

    GREAT
    1.Kris
    2.Alexis
    3.Allison
    4.Matt

    Okay
    5.Lil
    6.Megan
    7.Anoop
    8.Scott
    9.Michael

    BAD
    10.Danny
    11.Adam

Predictions for Bottom 3: Megan, Lil, Michael

I think Megan will go home =(

  15. Michelle says:

Mike, I noticed too! I had a face of shock the whole time adam was singing…i dont know..i was thinking what is he doing..do i like it, whats next?…I actually predicted him singing ring of fire, but in a way I wish he would have done more, or donw something different. It was soo out there, I’m not sure what to think, he brought the gay tonight i think…the lowcut shirt, all the necklaces, did anyone notice the back of his head looked bluish/green..whatever i still love Adam..okay to anoop fans: i understand now why u like him.his vocals impressed me, i became a fan tonight, Matt is continuing to impress me from last week to this week, hes just not as memorable as adam ..Danny/ I’m not even going to go there..I’m not a big fan. Alexis: I wish they’d quit asking her to be sexy, its quite evident she’s not that kind of performer, or atleast dont want to be. Allison- solid performance, Scott, I agree he’s kept because of his disability, but has a descent, yet mediocre voice, Michael sarver: probably going home….;( anyone i forgot probably just was unforgettable..

  16. Vanessa Green says:

I think that Scott and Michael Sarver will be out

  17. Vanessa Green says:

Scott has a very low Dialidol score – raw votes as well. Putting raw votes and overall score together, it looks like Scott will be going home. Because dialidol was wrong with Allison last week, I’m basing my predictions on the raw votes as well

  18. suebrody says:

Hey, guys, how do you check the dial idol’s stats? I keep calling for Adam (scared, but not too much), but I can’t get in there. Thanks! :)

I promised JP I would post a few comments tomorrow…I’ll try, if I can get some lucid thoughts together. :)

  19. Doug says:

    Dialidol -http://www.dialidol.com/asp/predictions

  20. suebrody says:

Thanks! Wow, Allison and Alexis are at the bottom…at least Adam has made the cut. :)

  21. Jason says:

I think the bottom 3 should be Megan, Michael and Scott with Megan going home.

The best were Adam sorry I though he was amazing and Kris, as well as Matt and Anoop.

Lil and Danny were overrated although Danny was better than Lil.

  22. Lynn says:

Wow. I’m speechless. First, my favorite cover version of Ring Of Fire ever was Wall Of Voodoo’s. I say was, because my favorite is now Adam’s. I was totally drawn in to the words. And when he hit that Freddie Mercury note… it was hypnotic. Another poster mentioned that it seemed like Adam was giving the song an erotic spin. Well, the song is all about desire, basically, so that made complete sense to me.

I guess I just find him completely unique and exciting to watch, and cannot wait for his performance each week because we’ll never get the same Adam two weeks in a row. I love how he’s shaking up the show. It’s about time. I’ll be buying this one on iTunes…

  23. Daisy says:

Adam…Wow! I am speechless! I hated it and liked it if that’s possible, such a weird version but I love it when he sings those high notes, it’s amazing. Overall though, totally not for me!

I predict that this week the judges will use that stupid judges vote thing to not have to deal with it anymore. I think they don’t want to have to be put in the position of having to save one of the “rumored” final 4 contestants later on. Now that the rumor is out there they are going to do everything possible to squash it.

Is there something wrong with Megans lower part of her body? She stands completely still and only moves her shoulders, it’s very odd! She has positively no rhythm whatsoever! That being said…she looked amazing even with the flu. (If she gives that flu to the rest of the contestants there is going to be hell to pay!)

  24. Jill M. says:

Oh my God I am mindblown by Adam. That was the best thing I ever saw on Idol. It was subversive and really sexy. It was sooo frickin amazing. I can’t even believe it.

  25. Sue says:

Scott sang Wild Angels, not Concrete Angels – totally different story – Concrete Angels is about an abused little girl who died because no one stepped in to help – and the concrete angel was her gravestone. So I was very surprised to see comments about Scott having a fun song! Glad to know it was really Wild Angels! :)

I kind of liked Adam, while it was a little embarrassing, too.

I thought Lil did a good job. A little too much talking back…

I was surprised at how well Kris did. He was fairly forgettable before now.

Michael’s song was too fast for him.

I haven’t seen the rest yet, but wanted to jump in.

  26. Lorelei says:

I thought Adam was absolutely amazing tonight. I voted the entire 2 hours for him. So hypnotic and mesmorizing. His voice is fantastic.

  27. Andrea says:

Justin, I totally agree with you. My 3 favorites right now are Adam, Kris, and Matt. I never thought this before tonight’s performance, but Adam reminded me of Matthew Bellamy, the lead singer of Muse. Anyone else agree?

  28. Mridula says:

OMG Adam. I am a huggeee Adam fan, but I feel like Kara, I’m so confused. It was unique and the vocals were excellent. Yet somehow Im feeling strange…its inexplicable.

  29. Mridula says:

And, it was not very country-ish. Still love the dude though.

  30. Vanessa Green says:

performance was ‘dope’ means rly good!

  31. jim says:

Adam left me speechless last nght. I would pay money right now to see him live. I can’t get enough of him.

Re-watch Ring of Fire on You Tube. You won’t be able to stop watching.

  32. Toxication says:

    my bottom 3:

    Alexis
    Scott
    Michael

I want to include Danny in my bottom 3, I think he is second rate singer, no originality but…obviously judges like him specially Paula.

  33. Bill Mitchell says:

A few words to describe Adam lambert’s performance of Ring-of-Fire. One thought before I do – I HATE Ring-of-Fire almost as much as I hate Satifaction. Why my favorite singer keeps picking songs I DESPISE is a quandry – but I digress.

Ok here it goes: Adam’s performance was “gay indulgence”. It was vocal gymnastics, it wasn’t “music”. There was nothing musical about that performance – it was vocal static. Why didn’t his BFF Danny Gokey pull him aside during rehearsals and say, um, Adam, dude… you are aware that sucks a**, right? Just sayin’…

Can you tell I am disappointed? I had a room full of people I had invited over just to hear Adam sing and he rips off that steaming pile of uber-weird. Hey, I like the odd (Chemical Romance) just as much as the next person, but that was just bizarre. It was like the acid trip where you think you can fly and end up jumping off a 10 story building in real life.

Adam had a chance to take this competition and own it with a beautiful ballad. Instead he gave us truly bizarre, pretentious, overly gay ear-murder.

    Bummed.

  34. Tinnie Goodall says:

I was totally blown away with Kris Allen’s performance last night. He was the best one by far and should go a long way even to the end….and WIN!! He looked very sexy in that black shirt too! Best performance and best lookin’ of them all!!!!

And Adam’s song…………wtf……he totally sucked and should go home after last night’s performance! He totally ruinned that song too! Never liked him and never will! I agree with Simon!!!! He looked very stupid and acted very gayish too……is he?

Anoop was a lot better than last week!
    Matt was really good too!
But Kris was spectacular!!!!!!!!! GOOO KRIS ALLEN, From Conway, Arkansas! He has my all my votes till the end……..KICK AWESOME!!!!!

  35. Doug says:

Bill your multiple gay references against Adam discredit your whole review. Your obvious homophobic tendencies dissolve any credibility to anything you say about Adam. What does being gay have to do with singing?? Would you say that Michael Sarver is overly -roughneck? or roughneck indulgent? I think not.Its clear your homophobia clouds your ability to accurately judge Adam’s performance.

  36. Lisa says:

I thought everyone did well last night. But I thought Adam Lambert was brilliant (my favorite – possibly my fav since AI has aired). I re-watched at least ten times. His pitch is spot-on every time and his range is just crazy incredible. I’m a fan of a show on HBO called True Blood – a show about vampires. I kept thinking, this song would be excellent on this show.

  37. Ali says:

What did simon and randy mean when they said allison was dope? please respond

  38. Tyler Goodall says:

Kris allen is my number 1. He is just a spectacular singer. He can sing with or wiothout his guitar. I thought he done very very good!

Adam–Who the heck is adam? I know: A gay..Screaming, no singing…no talent, at all guy. He is just up there to show america absoultuly nothing just his gay makeup and overall uglyness.

Adam needs to go home..JUST SAYING!!!!

Glad that there is someone on there that can sing…and thats why my votes go all the way to Kris Allen…GO KICK AWESOME!!!

  39. Klope62 says:

    Aw, Joe. No Klope-credit? *sadness*

    Haha. ;p

  40. bidjiba says:

Goodall dude, I am one of Kris’s biggest fans but comments like that really do not help at all. While Adam’s stage show “eh hem” was not my cup o tea his vocals were spot on with the arrangement in question. I appreciate your enthusiasm for Kris but man I really really don’t think he would appreciate someone being that disrespectful under his banner.

  41. bidjiba says:

oh and for the record Kris chose to room with Adam at the mansion not forced. I like kris’s style better than adams but any human with a sense of hearing and tone can tell that the dude has pipes.
