Of all the days!
Oh and…Michael Sarver? Idol is punking us right?

hmmmmmm… i wonder what this means. due to legal reasons ricky has disappeared – i really hope that means bc ricky got an invite to the wildcard. idk if this is looking too much into it, but isn’t alice usually in the center square on the brady bunch? hmmmmmmm. he needs to be in the top 12.

ya 4 sure. he’s gotta be in the wildcard show. i guess Michael won the hearts of all the blue collar folk out there…a product of the screwy format, i guess. he is not going to be able to hang. i’ll definately be rooting for Braddy in the wildcard. I feel for Anoop too. The wildcard might end up being the best of the four semifinal shows.
Jeffy Peffy wrote on 18. Feb 2009
This sucks the way they did it this year. One live song and you are in the Top 12?? What kind of crap is that? Michael making it was a joke as well. Anoop or Ricky were much better.
Jeffy Peffy wrote on 18. Feb 2009
In other years you had to sing 3 songs to get from the Top 24 to the Top 12. This year 1 song gets you from 36 to 12!!! What the heck were they thinking?
B wrote on 18. Feb 2009
okay. idol needs to put through people who can actually sing…like ricky braddy…michael? are you serious? im thinking that the judges liked ricky enough to put him through to the top 12. come on wild card!

I personally agree with this week except the rough neck guy… ugh, whats with the second chance for the family? That doesn’t mean that his performance was that good…
But i DO believe that Ricky had the best vocal and showed who he is. the new rules are what screwed him over but i DO believe he will be in the wildcard… i mean really. WHO ELSE would be invited to the wildcard.
RICKY all the way.

the 3 best last night by a mile were danny, ricky, and anoop. alexis was crappy but got lucky with awful performances all around here from the other women. sabrina sloan did that same song a few seasons back and it was literally at least 10 times better… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYRqBFL9C8Q
i hope ricky and anoop were both brought back because they both deserved to be top 12 before michael sarver. i really dont like the way they set it up this year, the other format gives people a chance to get to know people while getting rid of the people who are obviously not on the same level, this system forces really good people off while people like alexis and michael get in because of pure group luck. i hope they switch that for next season.

Ryan barely said two words to Ricky while he asked other contestants how they thought they did or asked the judges should the person stay or go. Then, instead of saying that the judges thought Ricky sang really well (positive), Ryan said they thought the song was challenging (negative). Basically, you’re done, sit down. What’s up with that??? It seems like the show has a problem with Ricky. Hopefully he can blow everyone away when (fingers crossed) he sings in the wild card round.
Hmm…care to share about the hint referring to this site?
Greg wrote on 19. Feb 2009
absolutely insane. Ricky was infinitely better than Michael, and personally I thought he did much better than Gokey also. Its such a shame that the producers decided to give him such a low blow and not focus on him ONE TIME during the entire first part of the season, instead grooming Gokey for the win.
It sucks that the site is down, but the myspace is still up and running: myspace.com/thebraddybunch.

Unfortunately the internet is a place ripe with conspiracy theorists. Not that a little paranoia is bad. For the producers, conspiracy theories produce buzz and buzz is what they want.
If Joe is right and the 4th votegetter gets a pass to the wildcard round and then the judges pick the other three wild card contestants (if 6 actually compete), clearly Ricky, who WAS, IMO the best performer on Tuesday, hands down, has to make the judges group of 3. He has to. Whether he makes the top 12 (which he should based on our small evidence base for him) after the wildcard performances will be up to how he sings next time AND whether this show is on the up and up…or whether conspiracy theorists will rule the day.
I will say one more thing. If the producers were looking for him to roll over and play dead Ricky didn’t. If he has a performance as good or better than his one on Tuesday in the wildcard then he really sticks it in their faces and they have to play it straight instead of creating controversy (by, for example, having Tatianna picked as a wildcard to get through to the top 12).
One more point. This all may work out as Michael Sarver isn’t even in the on-tour group yet. We may still have the top 10 that that are the best…if all of these guys and gals do their best and put the pressure on the producers and the judges to play it straight.
Ricky Braddy and thebraddybunch are still one of the most organized and fun AI groups to be a part of, with one of the most talented singers of Season 8. Ricky sang very well and deserves a Wild Card spot, but should also be able to build his fan base. His single “Love Me Like LA” is well written and enjoyable and far ahead of anyone else ever competing on AI–again it’s the Nashville connections. Keep us posted as to the Wild Card picks and how we can campaign for Ricky to influence AI judges. I say keep Ricky singing around LA with his break out single!
JO wrote on 19. Feb 2009
I’m sure the reason they are going to the top 12 immediately is because they want people to get more emotionally involved with the people on the show. B/c if they do that then they will be more compelled to go and see AI on tour last year their concert didn’t even make the top 15 highest grossing concerts and “obviously” they make a lot of money there. They also think that they can make more money on their albums as well since they have since had to drop all but Carrie, Kelly, David C. and Jordan from the label.
But still Ricky is much higher quality of a performer than most of those people will ever be and if they gave him a chance he would have charmed the pants off the world. Come on he has the best pipes the southern quality charm and he actually knows something about music “case in point, he actually new how to make a song his own, instead of just screaming( jackie tone), rasping out a fake blues (pink haired girl) and milking a very sad story (gokey)

I can’t believe Michael Sarver went thru over Ricky. Or Anoop even, for that matter.
Danny is another rocky/raspy guy like David Cook. American doesn’t want the same thing for two years running.
BRING RICKY BACK IN THE WILDCARD!!!
Will there not be 6 guys and 6 gals in the top 12 this year??? If so, how are they gonna ‘fix it’ so that an equal number gets thru? Will next elimination give us two gals and a guy to keep it even???
I’m so over this season already.

I was very disappointed that Ricky did not get the third slot, and I absolutely believe that it was because he got exactly NO airtime prior to last night’s show. He was terrific. That said, he has not been chosen as one of the three wild cards, to my knowledge, anyway. They will be chosen after the third group’s Top 3 are selected. The biggest shocker to me is that Anoop, who DID get a lot of air time, was beaten by Michael. Say what?! And this does not bode well for Ricky, if the judges choose one wild card from each of the three groups, since they already made it clear that they wanted Anoop in the Top 12. And since Anoop got more votes than Ricky, if that’s the way they choose (by number of four of that group), he’s in. That doesn’t take into account the strength of each group, of course.
Sigh. I do not like this format AT ALL. But I agree that Ricky already has a large fan base and can go on to do well, NO THANKS to the Idol producers. If Paula thought Ricky was so great, why didn’t she try to get him more exposure.

It’s quite obvious that the AI producers have already annointed Danny Gokey the winner of season eight.
Personally, I’m OVER Danny Gokey who invokes his dead wife almost as much as Rudy Giuliani invokes 9/11 in every sentence.
It’s a pathetic attempt by Mr. Gokey, his supporters (note the flashing of the dead wife’s picture last night), and the AI producers to court the sympathy vote.
Based on what I heard from the first group of 12, Ricky Braddy is the most accomplished vocalist — of course, as we saw with the two Davids last season, it’s not about being the most accomplished vocalist.
Last season was my first watching AI (only because of David Archuleta), and this season will be my last if the overtly-obvious manipulations of the AI producers continue and the most talented SINGER does not win.
