Nick does have a good voice, but he choose to entertain. And frankly, imagine group 2 without Nick. That’s sounds damn boring already.

The best thing is going to be when he comes back for a performance during the finale and he sings that song again..this time with a HUGE thing on stage with backup singers, fireworks, confetti, etc. I can’t wait!! BRING NORMUND BACK!!!

He is the Most Entertaining Person I have seen in a long time. I agree with alot of people who commented that he is not a Pop or Rock idol but a comedy “idol” he is. I laughed so hard last night. And his imitation of the Fantasia pose during hollywood week was great. He knows what he’s doing. And boo to Simon.

Nick is 100 percent better than Sanjaya was. The problem is that with this stupid wild card system, he could potentially take away a slot from someone like Ricky Braddy, who was, IMO, the best singer of the past two weeks and isn’t even in the Top 12 (ridiculous). I kind of wanted to see Nick actually sing, but I found him pretty funny on a very dull night. Had it not been for Adam, I’m not sure I would have cared who moved on at all. Too bad he was at the end; otherwise, I would have DVR’ed through everyone else’s performances.

Nick/Normund is by far the most entertaining contestant ever on Idol. He brings way more to the table than just singing karaoke, and is a natural performer. I think he has a future in Broadway, ala Nathan Lane. He is the only contestant keeping me watching this season, as the rest are the same flavor that we see every season.

As far as singing last night, Nick was not good. What he does have is entertainment value. Look, if you read his bio or what his resume is up to this point, you will see that it is very heavily influenced by comedy. He made it to Hollywood as Normund and into the top 36 as Normund.

For all those who knock his performance, he was put through as this character. For him to now change into something more serious would be “out of character” for him. Nick probably knows that his chances of going on would be slim. I would have done the exact same thing.

If I were put through as a comedy act, then I’m going to do comedy and I will go out doing what is true to my character. You may not like it, but he’s is being honest with who he was in this competition.

Will he make it, most likely not, but he put on a terrific and entertaining act that I’m sure Idol won’t soon forget.
