The One Truly Unknown Contestant: Jeanine Vailes
At this point in the competition, we’ve not seen only two contestants (Which is actually very good for Idol): Ricky Braddy and Jeanine Vailes.

Here’s a Youtube of a band called 4BIDN. One of the band members is a Jeanine Vailes. It looks like her….Do you think it is?

If this is indeed out Jeanine, this band toured with a bunch of bigger name bands…
“As a child, iNDIGO was brought up in the church. She was always a gifted vocalist, singing her first solo at the age of four, but as her teen years approached, she grew further away from the church. After graduating from high school, she juggled college along with pursuing a music career. She joined a very talented, R&B girl group named 4BIDN. During this time, iNDIGO opened shows for artists such as Mya, Destiny’s Child, Ashanti, Musiq Soulchild, and worked with producers such as Kwamé, Rockwilder, KeyBeats and Bink.
iNDIGO wrote numerous songs for the group and did much of their vocal production as well. In 2002, Sylvia Rhone signed 4BIDN to a major recording contract with Elektra Entertainment Group. Although they were later dropped from the label and eventually parted ways, iNDIGO continued solo.”
Well, did we finally find something on the elusive Jeanine?

I’ve spent the last couple of days digging up quite a bit of info on Ricky – but have found almost nothing on mysterious Jeanine. Here’s all we know:

Jeanine Vailes 28 years old, lives in Sherman Oaks, California and Auditioned for American Idol in San Francisco. We get a glimpse of her running with her Golden Ticket at the end of the SF show.
We know that her sister encouraged Jeanine to audition. The first day in Hollywood we get another brief glimpse of her in a SUV with Danny Gokey and Joanna Pacitti….heading for the Kodak.
That, however is all that we know. No music has surfaced….so friends have set up Fan sites. There’s No MySpace or Facebook that is known.
It’s sad really, because American Idol has obviously decided that Jeanine will be Fodder.
If ANYONE knows Jeanine and wants to send me any kind of tip or information about her I will see if I can drum up some fan interest so she’s not “Colton Berry’d”

I don’t mean any harm by this statement but was this girl born a boy? She really, really, really looks suspect to me and no matter how talented she is I feel for her if and when the truth comes out. Maybe this is why he/she is being so elusive.
Her voice is a bit nasally, but nice. She’d have to come out and kill it on performance night. I’d love to hear her tackle some Patti Labelle.
Sadly, I place the blame for her Berry-ness squarely on her shoulders. Just look at Felicia Barton. Her support base did not come from that few seconds of her audition. It really is up to these contestants to work the avenues that do have before the show even airs to build their fanbases. Granted, there are always Danny Gokey or Anoop Desai types who comes out of nowhere on show day, but you can’t depend on that. Music is a business, and you’ve got to work at it. Colton at least had the excuse that he was 16. Jeanine has no such excuse.
She is from DuVal HS in PG County MD and has had a lot of cosmetic work done since HS. Good to see she turned decent since she was running herself into the ground then.
I’ve known Jeanine since middle school and YES SHE IS A WOMAN! My feelings are kind of hurt that people are so mean. She has always been a kind girl that could sing. Even in school, me, her and another one of our fiends use to hang out by the mall and crack jokes and she woudl be singing. She was quite the jokester too…lol!!! I was hsocked when I saw the clip from American Idol and she did this thing where she tals with different accents…lol, I remember in school when she use to do that it was hilarious. We would make her do it over and over and over. I’m glad to see she is in good health. I alwasy wondered where she was and someone told me she had tried out for American Idol some years ago, but I didn’t see it for myself. Anyway, I will pray for you Jeanine in hopes that you end up being what ever GOD wnats you to be because in that you can never go wrong…my love and prayers be with you…
I work with her at a hotel on Wilshire and she is a sweetheart!
I have know Jeanine since 1999 and we worked as teachers for Childrens World Learning Centers in New Carrollton MD and in Washington DC. She was sooo pretty and always walked around singing at work. She also had a CD back then. She dressed really nice and loved to frequent the Georgetown shops back then. We were really close until we both left the Department of Labor Day Care in September 2000. She lived in Glen Arden, a area in Prince Georges County. This girl was full of life and a good team player. Very pretty just like her mother who was of a different race.

I know Jeanine, yes that is her in the video. I’ve known her since I was about 8 she’s a little older so I ran behind her when I was allowed. She has always been a good singer, she even rapped when we were little. She has always had good manners and was nice to anyone she came in contact with. We were in a talent show in DC called “Live At The Lincoln” in 1999, she did very well, she came in 2nd to a guy group. I dont understand why they did not show her auditon so maybe america would have gotten a chance to see her talent that may not have showcased well in hollywood or else she wouldn’ve made it to the top 36.
