Adam Lambert’s Song Troubles

From one of our Poster’s Sara:

“Adam was told over the weekend he could not perform the song of his choosing. As of Monday night he still did not have a song. This info is from a post by a fellow Wicked cast member. We don’t know yet what song he wanted to sing… Same old crap from AI….”

    wow thats not good
but that is also very surprising because i thought the producers liked adam lambert, and dont they pimp the heck out of the people they like?? hmm weird.

  2. AC says:

so the rumor that he’s singing all by myself is not true? because i know that song is def. cleared since its been sung before. i think it’s easier to get songs cleared later in the season anyways since it gives them more time.

Well, he could always sing “Dust in the Wind”. Anyway, Adam is a pro, I’m sure he’ll come up with something.

That being said, weird that they waited so long to tell him he couldn’t sing the song.

  4. Holly says:

Maybe he wasn’t going to sing one of the songs we all thought he was going to and they had trouble getting copy-right issues worked out. Of course, that could be just me being the devil’s advocate and AI could be totally screwing with Adam. Oh well, I think he’ll still rock it. I’ll be voting for him!

  5. Bill Mitchell says:

First of all, this is a rumor and we don;t even know if it is true. Secondly, I doubt if this was an evil conspiracy to destroy Adam. They probably tried to get clearance for a song he wanted and the author asked for too much money.

  6. Sara says:

All we know is that it was over the weekend that they told him that he couldn’t sing whatever he wanted to originally, and that on Monday night he didn’t have a confirmed song. It could be simply that they couldn’t clear the song he wanted, and maybe they were trying to get something else of his choosing cleared. It could be that the spoiler early on was of what he had rehearsed prior to being told he can’t sing it. We just don’t know all the facts other than there was issues with his song.

I am also SURE that this is NOT a plot to get Adam kicked off. These things happen more often than we know on AI.

    no, not good at all…
Adam is a consummate performer..he must have thought he had the song he’s been practicing—at least some choices—I don’t know, this sounds like sabotage…

Adam–I believe in you 100%–you can do it!! take any ole song and sing the house down!!

  9. Anon says:

Adam’s voice drives me insane…every note is in a super high range and the vibrato to go with it just makes my ears bleed, he’s way way too musical theatre not to mention he sounds like a woman…terrible.

  10. Danny says:

After watching the show tonight I’d have to say that Adam will win season 8. He was great. If Satisfaction wasn’t his first choice, it should have been. “You did your thang, Dawg!”

  11. suebrody says:

I don’t care what Adam sings. He could have “sung the phone book” (now Kara has taken Randy’s phrase! Man, oh man). He was 100 percent better than anyone else last night. The only other remotely competent singer was Allison. What a disappointing season this has become, and Anoop and Ricky aren’t even IN the wild card yet. And he took the top final position, but Simon didn’t even endorse him.

    Geez.

  12. Channien says:

Loving this guy! He rocked the show… I predict the final two will be Adam and Danny.

  13. scottyboy says:

It really doesn’t matter what anyone else sings either. Adam won Season 8 in the prelims. I told my wife to watch out for him. He will be in the finals. His voice is one of the best I have heard on Idol. No one on the show is even in the same league as him. Simon knows it too! Go Adam!!

  14. Susan says:

I wonder if he was going to sing “Crazy”? That’s what I was really hoping he would sing! Can someone find out?
    Thanks! Susan (mysuse)

  15. idilkiwi says:

Well, he did a fabulous rendition of “Satisfaction”!!
I can’t help but wonder what his first choice was–does anybody know?

  16. Regina says:

Listen Up Eveyone Adam Lambert could very easily be the next Elvis Presley. By that I mean he has the same type of charisma and sensuality and talent that E had and he is definitely going to win American Idol and his popularity and talent will blow away Kelly Clarkson along with the rest of the Idol winners. Theres a new king a risin on the horizon.
