Yesterday one of our Poster’s pointed me to Ricky Braddy’s fansite (Which I’ve been to before and enjoyed how innovative it was.  (I liked that they were really trying to do what AI didn’t – get Ricky’s name out there.)

Instead of the site, I found a very cryptic message.

See This Post I did Yesterday

Today, I was asked to post this riddle:

“Maybe there is a reason that the Braddy Bunch said Joes Place Blog is Cool. And this might be why!

RIDDLE:

A rose by any other name would still smell of spring
But a floribunda just doesn’t have the same ring
You won’t find Ricky in a triangle or box
But perhaps a floribunda for Curry’s Paradox”

And folks, I am in the dark as to what this means as much as you are.  I like riddle’s though, so I though, “What the Heck”, lets see if we can figure this out.

I’ll let you know if I hear anything else.

UPDATE:  Heres something that I pulled from the comments.  Its from the Braddy Bunch Team:

Hey loyal Braddy Bunch Followers!

Here is the what is going on. We were contacted and threatened in horrendous ways by FremantleMedia, 19 Entertainment, and FOX, explaining that we were an unfair advantage to the rest of the contestants by operating this site. They threatened us with a cease and desist letter, and instructed us that if we didn’t comply they would pull ricky from the competition.

As we are looking out for the best of Ricky, for now we have complied. We are a very very smart group over here, and plan on taking this infringement on our first amendment to the top. Many people think this has been taken down because “the brady bunch” had issues, which let me explain IS NOT THE CASE!

We will be back! So please hold on while we get all our ducks in a row, and settle up with the wrong doings of American Idol.

We encourage you to please keep rooting for Ricky, as regardless he will succeed and has a VERY bright future! For some reason they have REALLY come down hard on us, and not others in the competition…whatever that is suppose to mean!
For now I encourage you to look at the “missing square”.

Much love from Team Braddy

Hint: http://www.missingsquare.com maybe?

I dont know english very well, so all this is 200% more difficult 4 me xDD

All i know is that about the time Ricky was performing, the Bunch posted in the site a preview for some new ‘campaign’, involving the squares from, you know, The Brady Bunch show, in the same mood of the ‘Braddy dance campaign’.

We’re sad, but all this is just making me smile, and thats good. The Braddy bunch is a creative, proactive group. Wlidcard or not, i’m sure Ricky will make it big.

floribunda is another name for rose, like Curry’s Paradox is another word for…

I think it does mean that he will return in the wild card round.

If you reference this “missing square puzzle” that’s related to the theorem of Curry’s Paradox:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_square_puzzle

you’ll see it’s a cryptic way of saying that Ricky is the “missing square” within the triangle (or the show), but he is still part of it as a whole.

    See? Simple. :)

Well – Curry’s Paradox is a way to solve for truth. So – the riddle could refer to the seeking of truth. The Rose is trying to discover the truth.

Paul Curry was a magician in the 1950’s. He developed this paradox using a rectangle or triangle , called a missing square puzzle – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_square_puzzle. So im guessing this has something to do with the middle box with the question mark in it being missing. So what i assume is Ricky isnt actually missing he is still going to be on the show.

  6. suebrody wrote on 19. Feb 2009

    I hope so!

I just got an email that their site has been ordered to shut down, which could actually be a GOOD thing! :)

I’m betting it means that he’ll be in the Wildcard — and as such, his family is not allowed to steal AI’s online thunder by posted material about him…

Perhaps this is a clue to the URL for a new website. It could be that “braddybunch” was too close to Copyright infringement and they had to move the site to another name. After all we are to find “Ricky”.

    Hmmmm. My post disappeared.

I typed in the new (or moved) website URL and find the word FOUND with a question mark in the square and “Stay Tuned” below that.

Am I not allowed to post the URL?

Curry’s Paradox is a paradox of self-reference and used in the missing square puzzle.

MISSING SQUARE will be following Ricky like a shadow NOW!

Hey, my posts keep disappearing. Did you not want us to solve this? I’ve included my email in my post link, so shoot me an email telling me why my posts are disappearing.

  21. Mike wrote on 19. Feb 2009

    Weird, now its back again.

  22. Mike wrote on 19. Feb 2009

My best guess is that someone didn’t like the original website. Too close to the Brady Bunch. Wasn’t a big deal until it was publically mentioned after Ricky’s performance the other night. So, I think that Missing Square is going to host the site on their server as to avoid the legal ramifications.

    Is this close?

  23. Mike wrote on 19. Feb 2009

It woudl appear that Missing Square might be attending Belmont University located in Nashville? Just so happens to be where Ricky is from. Could this be someone who personally knows him?

  24. Baxter wrote on 19. Feb 2009

This isn’t about wildcard, cause the braddybunch site was shutted down minutes before the 1st Top12 choice was announced. By that time they didnt knew Ricky was not chosen.

Belmont is home to Ricky, Melinda, and Kimberly Locke, as well as Brad Paisley, Tricia Yearwood, and Josh Turner to name a few.

And there’s a good chance they’ve met, Melinda used to come back and work with vocal majors.

Let me get this straight. A show that has totally dissed one of their contestants PUTTING HIM AT A COMPLETELY UNFAIR DISADVANTAGE is now flexing their muscles under the guise that he is putting himself at a completely unfair advantage?

These Freemantle people have their heads up their rear ends. Yeah, they may have money and they may have power but they are absolute freaking morons. I guess it is only them who can determine which candidates to advantage or disadvantage, huh?

This is quickly going to turn into Rickygate. The only reason it hasn’t blown up yet is that Ricky is still in the running. Let’s hope they reason in their very small minds that the way to make this blow over is to let him make it to the final 12. I am sure they can talk themselves into that one.

  29. Joes Place wrote on 19. Feb 2009

I completely agree with you. I’m blown away that they would do this to any contestant. Anoops site virtually mirrored Rickys fan site. Why issue a C&D to one but not to the other? Sad. It is ALL publicity for the show. Do you guys really think that they don’t want Ricky in the top 12 because he may jepordize their “master plan”. My God, Archie was their master plan last year. Cook jepordized it and it worked out 1000 times better for 19E. I just don’t get it.

  30. Sam wrote on 20. Feb 2009

The fact that they are threatening Ricky’s site and not those of other contestants (Anoop) not only is completely unfair but is a blatant case of favoritism/making it painfully obvious who they want in the top 12. To say that I’m disgusted is an understatement. I almost want to boycott the show but I guess I’ll see what happens.

  31. Mike wrote on 20. Feb 2009

Hire a lawyer ASAP. Did they state in what way that his site gave him an unfair advantage? They can’t generalize with a C&D. They must be specific. Also, grab the links to any of the other contestants websites and see if they are functional. I know Kristen McNamara’s site is “down” for maintenance.

Does Lambert, Gokey, Giurard, Cokey, Anoop, Jasmine, Aleixs have a functional site? If any of these are up and running, then a case can be made about strongarming contestants. And I’d goes as far as to say this constitutes a breech of contract if all other websites are allowed to remain up.

  32. z wrote on 20. Feb 2009

if he doesn’t get the wild card, i don’t find a reason to watch this rigged show.

  33. Stephanie from Ricky's real hometown of ELIZABETH CITY NC wrote on 20. Feb 2009

The bottom line is that they rig the show to come out like they want it to! Either Ricky is in their plan or hes not. They did not give him coverage during audtions and that could be good or bad. Either they dont really want him there or they want him to come back and be the “darkhorse”. Who knows either way it pretty much sucks that they treat and minipulate him this way. He has the talent to make it on his own and he will make it either way! He deserves to be the next American Idol just because he doesnt have a sob story doesnt mean he doesnt deserve it.

  34. michele wrote on 22. Feb 2009

The very sad thing is that Ricky just wants to sing. It is so unfortunate that America can’t already know for sure that Ricky will be on for weeks to come, as we listen to the gift he just wants to share with us without all of the rehtoric that has accompanied this year’s AI “talent show.” Wondering why AI wants to turn itself into another pathetic reality t.v. show…instead of what it originally began as. Ricky deserved/deserves more, as do the season’s that will follow truly gifted contestants. Shame on you AI…
