CBS Statement Regarding Evel Dick

July 8th, 2011 by Joes Place No comments »
CBS statement: “Due to a personal matter, houseguest Dick Donato had to leave the game unexpectedly..” Will be addressed on Wed. show. #BB13
Totally bummed about this.  Was REALLY looking forward to another summer of Evel Dick Banging pots and pans all the way to the finale.
My thoughts and prayers are with him.  Something major MUST have happened to make Dick leave.  He’s a true BB fan – and would never intentionally leave the game and disappoint the game.
Now if BB decided to have Chill Town come back – then the summer wouldn’t suck.  lol

ZaptoIt:’Big Brother 13′: Evel Dick is gone from the game

July 8th, 2011 by Joes Place No comments »

After “Big Brother 13′s” After Dark” ended Thursday night (July 7), the feeds dropped off for several hours. When they came back up, we found out that production called Daniele to the Diary Room and told her Evel Dick has left the game. Daniele is still in the game and since she has lost her partner, she has the first Golden Key.

All production told Daniele as to the reason for Dick’s departure is that it is not related to their immediate family. But other than that, no one has any idea why Dick is gone.

Around 5:30 p.m. PT yesterday, he was in the backyard in his swimsuit, then he got called into the house and he hasn’t been seen since. He did change out of his swimsuit before he left, because it was still in the house, but that’s all the houseguests could figure out. » Read more: ZaptoIt:’Big Brother 13′: Evel Dick is gone from the game

Big Brother 13′s Double Trouble/

June 30th, 2011 by Joes Place No comments »

Get ready for an extra dose of double-dealing on Big Brother this summer.

The reality series’ 13th-season “double trouble” twist features the return of some of the reality series’ most troublesome twosomes, playing alongside eight brand-new Houseguests, CBS announced today.

Although the network identified the new Houseguests, the identities of the veterans won’t be disclosed—presumably by host Julie Chen—until the show’s premiere on Thurs., July 7.

Here’s what we know about the brand-new residents of this season’s Venice Beach loft-inspired house.

PHOTOS: Meet the new houseguests!

Adam Poch, 39; Hoboken, N.J.; music inventory manager
Cassi Colvin, 26; Nashville; model
Dominic Briones, 25; San Mateo, Calif.; college student
Kalia Booker, 30; Los Angeles; writer
Keith Henderson, 32; Bolingbrook, Ill.; human resources manager
Lawon Exum, 39; Inglewood, Calif.; legal file clerk
Porsche Briggs, 23; Miami Beach, Fla.; VIP cocktail waitress
Shelly Moore, 41; Prairieville, La.; outdoors industry executive

This summer staple will also see the return of the “Have Not Room,” where unfortunate contestants are deprived of luxury and comfort, and the infamous slop, which we can confirm is even more sickening—and green—this season. (Look out next week for our first-hand account of a day locked spent in the Big Brother 13 House!)

I am sure that Dick and Danielle are there, and I am praying to the BB Gods that Chilltown is in da house.  I wouldn’t leave my computer all summer.

Scotty and Lauren at CMA Music Fest

June 13th, 2011 by Tati No comments »

Scotty and Lauren were both surprise performers at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville this past weekend. Scotty performed Your Man (aka Baby Lock them Doors) with Josh Turner, and Lauren  sang Anyway with Martina McBride.  Although they both held their own, Scotty works the stage better than Lauren does, he looks like he’s been working a crowd that size for years .

Check out the videos below:

I loved both videos… but, because I’m a sap and it made get teary eyed, I liked Lauren’s better.

Cheryl Cole: Simon Cowell breaks his silence on why she has been axed from US X Factor

June 6th, 2011 by Joes Place No comments »

Simon Cowell last night broke his silence to explain why he killed off Cheryl Cole’s American dream.

The 51-year-old claimed he thought she would be happy to move back to the UK version of The X Factor but admitted he bottled out of telling her.

Instead, he sent X Factor’s executive producer Richard Holloway to deliver the bad news.

Cowell said: “The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarassed her, but the truth was I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the best place at the right time.”

Earlier, bosses confirmed that after failing to respond to their offer to come back, she had been officially replaced on the US panel by ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger – who arrived for an interview in London for the Graham Norton Show.

Cheryl filmed just four episodes of the US version of X Factor last month. » Read more: Cheryl Cole: Simon Cowell breaks his silence on why she has been axed from US X Factor

American Idol’s Tim Halperin’s New Music

June 6th, 2011 by Joes Place 1 comment »
Tim Halperin dropped by Joe’s Place today to tell us about his great new music video.  It was released today.  He performed this song on Idol this season and the Kidd Kraddick nationally syndicated radio show has been playing it consistently.   The funding for this video came from fans donations.   The funding for the video came from fan donations, including a lot of AI fans.  Tim says that he thinks this video demonstrates the power of independent collaboration, apart from a major label or American Idol.  He is hoping hoping to get a million views on this video, and  is hoping that we can help get him there. Tim says he really appreciates all of your support.

The NGH Report – The Finale of American Idol Season 10

May 26th, 2011 by Joes Place 1 comment »

It’s over. American Idol Season 10 has come to a very strong conclusion with, what I consider, one of its’ strongest Finale nights ever. We had music legends from every genre represent themselves on the Nokia stage and I got to be there live to watch it all go down. The lights, the sound, the pseudo-celebrities, and the incredibly weird people that always find a way to sit one row in front of me. It all made the experience that much more exciting! I’m going to try and make this a tradition because Idol Finale week was absolutely the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done in my life and I intend to get nerdier every year. So… who won?

Scotty McCreery took the crown away from reigning champ Lee Dewyze (who we barely saw except for a few seconds sitting behind Ryan) to become the tenth American Idol. In ten years, we have accomplished quite a bit. Kelly Clarkson, the first pop star. Ruben Studdard, the R&B Velvet Teddy Bear. Fantasia Barrino, the R&B teen with a distinct voice. Carrie Underwood, the Country diva. Taylor Hicks, the throwback Soul singer. Jordin Sparks, the second pop star. David Cook, the rocker. Kris Allen, the Singer/Songwriter. Lee Dewyze, the current champ. This show has a history. We all are a part of this history, and we have all had our fair share of victories and disappointments along the way because that’s what it means to be invested with this program. We want to see dreams come true.

So, we crowned our very first male Country artist. Carrie Underwood has shown us the power of Country music, as she is the most successful American Idol of all time. Can Scotty replicate that career trajectory? We’ll see. I am willing to make one prediction that I think many will agree with… Hate him or not, Scotty McCreery will be the most successful male American Idol. He’s a young kid with a good heart and a strong head on his shoulders and he is going to be pushed hard by Jimmy Iovine and Idol producers. I can definitely see him making quite the impression. Good luck to him, and good luck to the runner-up, Lauren Alaina, who will probably also do very well in the Country genre. These kids, if they play their cards right, will never have to work again. » Read more: The NGH Report – The Finale of American Idol Season 10
